Movie Night With Pete

"Alright. You guys have fun. (Y/N) and I will be back in a few hours." Brendon told his brother-in-law as he bent down to kiss Skylar.

Pete smiled. "You too. Sky and I are going to have lots of fun. Don't worry about a single thing!"

Skylar waved to you two as you two drove off for your date.

"It's been a while since we've been on an actual date. Remember the breakfast picnic?" you asked your husband.

"Of course I do, baby." A chill ran down your spine as he slowly slid his hand up your leg. "Maybe on this date, we can have some more...fun." He winked.

Pete removed the popcorn from the microwave and poured it into a stainless steel bowl. He had planned to watch Rogue One with his niece. You and Brendon had her watch all of the movies except for that one.

Half an hour into the movie, Pete's phone buzzed.

Patty: Babe, are you home? I have pizza.

Pete: 😍 Yeah. Skylar and I are watching a movie. You're welcome to join us.

Patty: I'll be over in a bit. I love you!

Pete: I love you more!

When the movie's credits rolled and the popcorn and pizza were gone, Skylar started to yawn. She crawled into Pete's lap and buried her heard into his chest.

"You tired?" Patrick asked.

She nodded. Skylar wasn't much of a talker. Pete lifted her onto the couch and grabbed a blanket to wrap her in. Before she closed her eyes, she called for him again.

"Uncle, can you tell me a bed time story?"

Pete looked up at his boyfriend. Patrick smiled.

"Once upon a time, there was a prince named Peter and a princess named...Patty. The two had
a beautiful niece named Skylar and..."

Skylar was asleep by the time Pete finished his fairy tale. He pressed a kiss to her forehead and got up.

"That was adorable." Patrick whispered.

"It's nothing." Pete blushed. He pressed a kiss onto his boyfriend's lips before carrying him over to his bedroom bridal style. The two decided to lay down.

"Can I ask you something, Pete?"

"Ask away baby."

Patrick rolled over onto his boyfriend. "Why did you say yes when I asked you out at your party?"Pete held Patrick close.

"I said yes because ever since we met, I've been madly in love with you.
I'll admit now that I was hoping that you'd ask me for my birthday. I was going to ask you out the day after     (Y/N)'s wedding...but I chickened out."

"Is that why Andy smacked you?"

Pete chuckled. "Yeah."

Just then, the doorbell rang. Patrick got off of his boyfriend so Pete could answer the door.

You scooped your daughter into your arms and pressed a kiss on her cheek, trying not to wake her up.

"Thank you." you whispered as Brendon opened the door for you.

"You're welcome." Pete whispered back. His eyebrows knitted together as he saw you nod at something behind him. As soon as your car was gone, Pete turned away from the window and froze. His boyfriend knelt down.

"I can't wait until we have children. Will you marry me?"

Pete ran his fingers through his boyfriend's hair, staring at his new ring while doing so.

"How did (Y/N) know?"

Patrick smiled. "I skipped band practice on Thursday so we could go ring shopping."

"Patrick Stump, you are insane." They kissed each other goodnight.
