Chapter 1

*Kylie's POV*

I'm sitting on a plane going to California. I finally convinced my parents to let me live with my cousin Trent. I'm excited to see him. We are extremely close, He's the brother I never had. I haven't seen him in 3 years. So I can't wait but I'm not looking forward to starting school in the fall. I used to love school but not after the incident.

I hate it more than anything now, but at least me and Trent are the same age so I wont be alone.The seatbelt sign started flashing, so i know we are landing soon. I cant wait to get off
this damn plane.

The woman next to me keeps on complaining about her ex-husband. I
try to block her out and nod my head but she just wont stop. I blocked most of it out but I heard some parts about how he cheated on her with a blonde bimbo.

We finally land and i nearly jump out of my seat. I grab my suitcases and run off the plane. I sit down in a chair and text Trent.

Hey, I'm at the airport!

I wait a couple of minutes and my phone starts to buzz.

From TRENT😝: yay! I'll be there in 20 minutes, go sit and eat something!

Oh Trent he's always late. I find a place to sit and i order a bagel. Then i take a book out and start to get lost in it.

*Trent's POV*

I cant wait to see her, its been 3 yrs since i last saw her. I understand why she decided to live with me. She had to endure 6 months of bullying because some moron started a rumor about her because she wouldn't sleep with him. Guys are such pigs sometimes. I mean i like girls and i would be pissed if I was rejected but that was low. Kylie is so
strong and i respect her so much for that.

I wanted to surprise her when she came to live with me, so i painted her room her favorite color navy blue. I also hung posters of her favorite band Emblem3. But what she doesn't know is I'm actually best friends with them and live with them so she'll be living with them too. That will sure start off her new life here awesome.

My phone started to buzz. When i looked down I saw it was a text from Kylie.

Kylie👌: Hey, Im at the airport!

I was just about to text her back when i passed a petshop. I thought I'd surprise her even more.

I quick texted her back.

:yay! Ill be there in 20 minutes go sit down and eat something!

I walked in there and made my way towards the puppies. They were all pretty cut but one caught my eye and i knew he was perfect for Kylie. I walked over to the owner and said i wanted to buy him. She looked at me like i was crazy.

"You want to buy him!?

" um yes. Why whats wrong with him?" I asked confused.

" Well, he's a runt and he's too weak." She said still shocked.

I looked over at the german shepherd puppy," He's perfect! I'll take him."

" suit yourself"

I picked out a collar for him and got a bow. I put the bow on him and he wagged his tail happy to be appreciated and noticed. I drove to the airport and told the pup to stay. I went inside looking for Kylie. I found her sitting down reading a book. I tapped on her
shoulder and she literally fell off the seat.

" You scared me" she said laughing.

" Sorry!" I said pulling her into a huge hug." I missed you!"

" I missed you too you big jerk!" She said.

"Lets go, i have a few surprises for you," I said grabbing her suitcases.

We made our way to the car, i put her suitcases in the trunk and opened the passenger side for her. She took one look at the puppy and started crying.

" Do you like him?," I said worried.

She hugged me and said " Of course i do this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me!"

We both hopped in the car. The puppy immediately curled up in a little ball on her lap.

" What are you gonna name him?" I asked.

She looked at me, then the puppy and a smile spread across her face, "Riptide!"
