Chapter 4 ✯ Good Morning

{ Harry }

“Don’t get run over!” I laughed as I waved at the three drunk blokes that where attempting at walking, I felt bad for Rowan since he was the only one not drunk of the group and also took on the responsibility to take them home.

“We’ll, we’ll, do our, do our best!” George slurred and giggled on Rowan’s shoulder as Rowan rolled his eyes.

I couldn’t help but not laugh again, “Good luck Rowan!” I said as I shoved my hands in my pockets as he groaned and walked off. I turned to enter the doorway of my flat complex, but I stopped myself when I saw clothes littered around the entrance.

I got rather confused, who would throw their clothes on to the streets? I bent down, putting one knee to the ground to balance myself before picking up a grey piece that looked like a shirt. The shreds made it hard to read but I could make out a name, Cat Fonseka.

“Cat?” I whispered, flipping around the shredded material, “Catherine?” I thought back to the redhead I talked to earlier. What could have possibly happened that had made her loose her clothes? The worst possible scenarios went threw my head and I gulped, “This can’t be good.” I looked over to see a pair of shorts as well, then some ash paw prints.

Ash paw prints? I thought, What the hell? I stood up, dropping the shirt and taking a few steps to look at the prints. They were blackened on to the concrete, “Time to play Sherlock, Styles,” I said to myself, rubbing my hands together and started following the path of footprints.

If  she was taken by something, it wouldn’t have gone into town with a naked girl because no one is that stupid. It has to be hiding in one of the alleyways before London. But what took her that could leave ashes in its footsteps. That had me puzzled, the fact that there was a possibility that the things feet might be on fire made me a bit hesitant, but I could leave Catherine alone where she could possibly be dying.

I knew it had to have been about half an hour, but it felt like five hours have past. The paw trail was all over the place, I had found piles of ashes in the empty alleyways, which confused me even more, and my stomach was growling and it wouldn’t shut up.

I raked my hand threw my hair and sighed in frustration as I continued looking. I looked back down when I hit another alleyway when I saw there was no paw prints leaving the alleyway, just entering it. I pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight because this passage was darker than the others. I slowly walked forward, my nose hit with rubbish and probably dying animals that made me almost throw up. It was a good place to drop a body, but I hoped that Catherine was not dead.

What I saw almost made me drop my phone and scream.

“Catherine!”

{ Catherine }

My body was aching for sleep but my brain was saying it was time to open my eyes, it might have been the annoying little mumbled voices that I wanted to shut up.

I slowly flicked my eyes open, giving my eyes a moment to adjust before opening them anymore. I brought my hands up and rubbed my eyes with my palms to wipe the blurriness out of them and softly groaned in the processes. I tried to push myself up with my left arm, but it collapsed as a sharp throbbing pain shot threw it and I silently yelped. I looked to my shoulder and that was when I got wide-eyed and confused, it might have been the sweater or the different colored couch I was on, but I got extremely confused.
