tyler enters the library with tear stained cheeks and chipped pink nails. everybody calls him a fag or trans. he has no friends and the friend he once had moved away to london with her family.
she tried to stay but, you can see how well that went. tyler walks over to miss heartfelt's (a/n no judgement i'm in class rn) desk and says a quick hello.
'what happened this time love?'
'nothing big. just a minor thing. i'll be fine'
'you say that everyday dear, your lying to yourself. you need to take a day off. school can be stressful at a young age.'
'i feel like even in college nobody's going to like me.'
'you'll find someone eventually. but as for now i need your help shelving books.'
'okay. i'm going to put my bag in the back. then i'll get started.'
'okay. i'll be in my office if you need anything.'
'okay.'
tyler places his white leather backpack in miss heartfelt's office before grabbing a cart and starting on shelving.
after awhile of shelving he takes a break and sits down at the front desk. he opens the book he's been reading called "the future of us."
he sighs in content as he nibbles on an apple. he smiles at the book and his eyes skim the pages. he's so into the book he doesn't even hear the door open.
a boy with red hair and a beanie walks in. a well known red head who goes by the name of josh dun.
the whole school knows who he is so if you don't it's only because you're a freshman which in this case tyler was.
so he had now clue what was coming his way.
josh coughs when he approaches the desk. only to get no response from the brunette.
'hello?!' josh says loud enough for the boy to hear him. tyler almost falls out the chair from being frightened.
josh laughs and the boy gets flustered from being stared at.
'h-hi, can i-i um help y-you?'
'yes you can actually. i need a book on u.s history,' josh says smiling a bit at the boy. now josh might be bad but he still does his studies.
'u-um, yeah. f-follow m-me.'
tyler leads him over to the history section of the library.
'w-what volume?' tyler asks picking at his pink nails.
'book 4, volume 3.'
tyler hands him the book and walks away quickly. he doesn't want to be talked to anymore. he just knows he'll embarrass himself further.
