Lili's POV

Friendship. Who knows if it's something that's supposed to last forever. When Camilla and I first met, when we were five, we guaranteed each other that we would never let anything come between us. After 9 years of this promise moving along swiftly... it decided to break. KJ Andrews. Camilla knew that he was the boy of my dreams. The boy next door. But since freshmen year when she set her eyes upon him I knew that our promise had broken. I know it's silly, but she knew how much I felt about him. I had poured my emotions about him out to Camilla and all she did was pick them all up and chucked them away. She loved him. Like I used to love him.

Now I am on the urge of losing another friendship. Not because he betrayed me. Not because he went behind my back. Not because he found someone new. Because he was in danger. His location was unknown so was the kidnapper. I felt so helpless as if I was unable to move. I needed to find Casey Keller. He was my best friend and he needs to be here.

I lay on my stomach on my bed as I sighed heavily. I stared blankly at the empty page of my diary wondering what to write. I fiddled the pen in between my fingers when I heard a tap on my window. I snapped my head towards it in fright. I squinted my eyes trying to make out who the dark figure was that was standing behind the glass. I crept off my bed and walked slowly towards the closed window. I jerked my head forward-

"Cole?" I whispered to myself. I opened the window hastily.

"Hey Juliet," Cole said as he climbed through my window.

I chuckled at his words. "What are you doing here Cole? It's really late," I said with a guilty smile.

"I could leave if you wanted," he said as he edged towards me placing his hand softly upon my cheek.

"My mom," I muffled.

"What about your mom?" he snickered.

"She'll find out that you're here," I replied looking down as I fiddled with my fingers.

"I won't stay long. Just a quick visit from the window," he joked before he kissed my forehead.

I bit my bottom lip in acceptance. "You make me so happy," I whispered looking up at him.

He smiled his infamous dimpled smile before he slung his arm around my neck and pulled me into his safe hold. He snuffled his nose in my hair as he adjusted it to a comfortable position. I had my arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

"I should go now," he said before releasing me from his hold.

The sense of protection left me. "Ok," I muffled. I felt as his hand made it under my chin as he lifted my head up. Our eyes locked as we stared for a minute.

"You are so beautiful," he whispered.

"You are my Romeo," I whispered back.

"Lili! Who are you talking to!" my mom shouted from the other side of the door.

"No one mom," I said clearing my throat.

"Are you sure? Because I'm about to come in and if I find that you're lying," she began.

"Mom, I'm not!" I yelled before hastily whispering to Cole to, "get out the window."

Everything had slowed down as I heard my door's latch unclick and as I saw my mother's face peer into my room first. I stood rigid and plastered a fake smile onto my face. I held my breath hoping that Cole had already gone out of sight.

"Are you okay Lili, you seem... tight," she said before walking over to my drawers to place my folded clothes in.

"Uh- I'm fine," I choked, "thanks."

She turned her head towards me and smiled, her eyebrows furrowed together all at once. I forced a smile back before she left the room. I quickly turned towards the window and sighed. Now awaiting the return of my Romeo.
