Cole's POV
Beliefs. All these kids still believing in Santa Clause, the Easter bunny, the tooth fairy. One day they're going to discover the painful truth of these mythical characters. Could be the hard way, or eventually they would just grow out of it. As a kid, I had much different beliefs from others. I believed that Lili Cooper and I would one day fall deeply in love, and how little she knew about it. She was still believing in love at first sight, she believed in her love for KJ Andrews. I grew out of my belief. I never thought for another second that she would change her choice to love me back. How little did I know...

It came as a usual routine where I stood at the bottom of the concrete stairs which lead to the entrance of the school. There were exactly 17 cracked, chipped, stained up and gummed down steps. I would stare up already exhausted. My back slouched and my strides demanding as I trudged up every breath wasting step. There I met her. Her face beaming with joy as she caught sight of me. I straightened up as I paced towards her.

"Hey Cole!" she squealed as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

I pulled her in, my arms strapped around her waist.

"Hey Lils," I said kissing her lightly upon her forehead.

She glanced at me, her blue eyes glowing from the bright rays of the sun. Her lips were plump and painted with a light shade of pink. Her blonde strands of hair coming down the sides of her face. I raised my hand slowly and tucked them behind her ears.

"Thanks," she whispered, "They're really annoying," she fussed.

"It's fine," my voice faded.

My eyes smiled as I looked at her.

"We should go," she suggested.

"Yeah," I chuckled as we went hand in hand through the double doors.

"You know, I could really get used to this," I enthused as we squeezed through the congested hallway.

"What do you mean?" she asked with a light frown as she looked up at me.

"Meeting up with you every school morning and coming through holding your hand," I replied with a smirk.

She chuckled a little. We watched confused as everyone rushed over to the noticeboard at the end of the hallway.

"What's going on?" I agitated as I was shoulder nudged by several hustling people.

"Looks important," Lili shrugged.

Just then KJ and Camilla came passed.

"Hey," Camilla said.

"They're all rushing to check the announced 'urgent news'," KJ continued.

Lili loosened her hand from my grip as she squeezed her way through the mob in front of the notice board. I watched as she dodged all the flaying arms. She reached the front. She turned back to us, her eyes were widened with shock.

"What," I mouthed.

Then came the noise of Principle Bryant's voice sounding from the speakers which grabbed everyone's attention. The hallway fell silent as we listened for what was going to be said.

"Good morning students of Riverdale. I must inform you all about the terrible incident that occurred last night. One of our beloved students Casey Keller was recently kidnapped, last seen at the Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe."

Noise broke out again. Even louder this time. There were gasps and screams all round. There were 'Oh my gods' coming from every direction. The noise made me dizzy. Then I felt a hand grab onto my own. I looked forward to see Lili's face.

"Are you okay?" she concerned.

"Yeah, now I am," I said giving her a slight grin.

We were somewhat close to Casey. And we had no idea something like this could happen to such an innocent person. What used to be predictable was no longer, the town of Riverdale became hardly understood and more mysterious and unpredictable than ever.
