As soon as I was ready, he shoved me out the door.
"Harry!" I protested. "I forgot my cellphone!"
He groaned and let me unlock the door. Before he could follow me in, I slammed the door.
"Claire!"
"Yes?" We were having a conversation through the door.
"Open up!"
"Nah, I'm going back to sleep." I teased.
He groaned once more before trying to convince me to open the door.
The entire time, I was staring at him through the peephole. I silently giggled at his irritated expression.
After retrieving my phone, I swung the door open.
"Finally!" He waved his hands in the air, obviously exasperated.
"Now c'mon, we've got to find somewhere to eat."
We ended up selecting an Italian restaurant close to where the interview was.
The hostess obviously recognized Harry, even through his "disguise", as he calls it.
She seated us right away, although there was a huge waiting list. The other customers complained but she brushed them off.
We sat there awhile after ordering our meals. We simply talked of current events, the interview, blah, blah, blah.
Once we were done in the restaurant we had some time to kill.
"Let's just walk around. There's a park nearby." Harry suggested.
I pulled my jacket tighter around me. It was warmer than usual, but still not super amazing temperatures.
It was only 2:15 and I needed to be at the interview around 3:30. It was a ten minute drive from here. I figured I should get there a bit early.
"We should probably head back to the car around 3:00, okay?"
"Sure thing." Harry said with a shrug.
We spent our time admiring the birds and watching the cars drive by.
"Let's play a game." Harry blurted out of the blue.
"What game?"
He knitted his eyebrows together, thinking.
"How about," he began as we sat on a park bench. "We each choose a color of car, then whoever sees the most of their color car in five minutes wins."
I laughed. It seemed like a rather juvenile game if you asked me. I agreed anyway.
He chose white cars and I chose red.
I ended up winning, spotting 23 red cars, while Harry only spotted 17 of his chosen color.
I glanced at my phone to check the time.
"We should get going, it's 2:51."
We had ventured pretty far from the car and it would take around seven minutes to get back to it. I wasn't going to risk being late.
Once we reached Harry's car again, we climbed in and started for the interview.

"Hello," I smiled, greeting Simon and Paul. "I'm Claire."
"Yes," Paul replied, "we've heard quite a bit about you."
This caused Harry and I both to blush.
Harry cleared his throat, signaling for them to say something.
They responded by leading Harry and I into an office.
I sat down in front of them and Harry sat next to them.
"So," began Simon, "Harry, you recommended her for this job. Why?"
Harry shrugged. "I trust her. And she's a nice person so I think the other guys would like her. And Lou, too."
"Claire, any thoughts?"
"Well all I have to say is that I would really enjoy working for all of you." I didn't know what to say really, and that was the first thing that came to my mind.
After several more questions, Simon stood. We all did the same.
"Well, I think I will discuss this with Paul, and we'll let you know. It should be quick though, so you can just wait outside the office with Harry."
Harry and I stepped outside, closing the door behind us. We plopped down in the comfy chairs in the waiting area.
"Do you think they liked me?"
"Of course!" Harry beamed. "Couldn't you tell?"
"No," I laughed nervously. "I honestly couldn't."
"Well they can be pretty vague. Especially simon. Half the time, I can't tell if he's pissed or jumping for joy."
We both laughed.
The office door swung open. Wow, that was fast.
I rose and Harry remained sitting.
"Good news, Claire. We liked you a lot, so you've got the job." Simon smiled slightly.
"Woo-hoo!" Harry cheered.
"Thank you so much, Sir."
"Please, call me Simon." He laughed.
Today was a good day.
