This is my entry for "Lyrically Inspired Awards" hosted by _RandomCreativity_

Basically, it's supposed to be inspired by and based on a song.

Let me know in the comments what you thought! Enjoy :)

The music was loud,

toxic smoke swirled.

Not a coherent thought

could be formed or heard.

My friend, my enemy

this full, yet lifeless place.

Eyes follow my every move

in a never-ending chase.

My limbs roam

as I seduce the crowd;

I wonder if they hear

my heart beat so loud?

Hands grope,

old and young alike;

but I keep my mouth sealed

not wanting another strike.

The beat throbs in my veins

as I grip the solid bar;

as I twirl around,

my past seems so far.

Daddy's girl

is what they called me.

But now, it's accompanied

by a hasty fee.

The world dissolves

as I swing my hips;

when I think of what awaits,

my heart beat skips.

The blood in my veins

pounds strong for him;

but my body is not mine,

just another man's whim.

I'm on my own.

I've always been.

But my darling, you;

to a better life you'll lean.

Oh baby, oh love,

no one's gonna hurt you;

as long as I'm here,

doing what I do.

I was a fool

a long time ago.

The world just seemed better;

never been in love before.

Life is not fair

I know that now;

but one thing I don't regret

is simply how

without my cursed life

I wouldn't have thou,

to love and to care

and to hold right now.

It's been six years;

I'm ready for more

For your warmth, darling,

nothing's a chore.

You may not know now,

how safe you are;

but darling, remember,

you, with me, are.

The world is cruel,

But for you it needn't be.

So sleep, my darling,

Rockabye, baby.
