Jiso's P.O.VAs we made our way through the forest, the light from the sky was completely gone. Dark now enveloped us and we continued our journey. I was concerned with Solji's injury, I glanced at her shoulder but she seemed to be fine so I didn't bother asking if she was okay. I looked ahead and suddenly I heard rustling in the trees. Looking up, I had my bow and arrow loaded and ready to shoot if something popped out. I heard a hoot and relaxed as I knew that it was the messenger bird. "Well looks like the guys already talked to the queen for me" Solji said with a smirk.
I raised a brow and looked at her in question. "Just how high of a rank are they that they got to speak with the queen" I asked her. "Oh they live as peasants, its just that with the mention of my name, you can do everything basically" she said ripping the note. The bird stayed on her shoulder, then slowly move onto the horse to make itself comfortable. "Wait well if they use your real name right" I questioned her again. "Yeah if they only use my real name" she said sighing. "So they found out your real name or did you give it to them" I said with a stern voice. She took a sideways glance at me, she began to nervously laugh and look at me. "Well you see I um I kinda gave it to them, hehehe" she giggled. I sighed and shook my head at her. "One day someone is going to abuse your name Solji" I sighed.
"Yeah I know, anyways we should be good at entering at night" Solji said. "We have a few more hours before we make it to the clearing where the border is" I said looking up at the sky. The sun was rising but it was going to set up high in a hour or two. "Should we keep going at this pace or faster" she asked. "This pace is good, that way we won't get there too early" I responded. I saw her nod and look around, while taking out a rice cake and chewing on it. I smiled at her innocent face, well knowing that she wasn't even close to being innocent. "Do you think we might get caught" she asked.
"Chances are thick, but luck is on our side up until now, so lets not try to jinx it" I said smiling at her for reassurance. She sideways glanced at me and breathed in some air. "I missed the feel of freedom" she said, most likely recalling our times out in the forest hunting. "Yeah so do I, I feel more like your body guard then your best friend" I said laughing. She laughed along, and shook her head. "You know when I was going to be crowned, I was thinking of making you something higher then an official" she said smiling sadly. I looked down in pity of what was going on in her life.
Even though I grew up next to her, the queens decision to kick out the next in line to own the throne was very drastic. I sighed and looked at her. "Even if your mother owns the throne right now, we will come back and fight for it. As for right now, we need to get away from everything and clear our minds. Just enough time to get us stronger then what we are right now" I said with a determined look. "If I could only get strong fast enough to make her pay, to make her pay what she made me go through" she said clenching her hands in anger. Tears began to leek out of her eyes, and she harshly wiped them away. One thing she didn't like was crying.
She was taught in her early years that crying was a form of weakness and she couldn't show it. Even though I told her multiple times that crying was okay, she refused to show any kind of emotion that resembled sadness. Recently she started to forget about that thought, and opened up a little more. "She had no right to take the throne, if father was still alive everything would have been better" she hissed in annoyance.
"Even with your father alive she would have found a way to make your life miserable" I said jokingly laughing. "Your right, but at least my father would have done something" she said. With out even realizing we had made it to the clearing where the border of Silla was. "Wow we got here fast" I said giggling. "Yeah time flies by when your having fun" she said laughing. Crossing over the border we continued our journey to the main part of the plains. "I just can't wait to see the outside civilians, I never took you with me so this is exciting" she said almost jumping out of excitement. "Oh did I forget to mention that Silla has a faceless king" she said.
Yawning I looked at her with a hurt expression. "Okay I see how it is, thanks for thinking of me. Secondly, what I didn't know since you know I've never been here" I sarcastically said. "Yaaahhh show some respect towards me" she said raising a threatening hand. "Yah your only one year older than me" I yelled back, raising a hand of my own. Solji laughed and speed up a little. Looking up again at the sky, I noticed that it was turning a purplish color. Its been a while since I've seen a sun set. "Look at how beautiful the sky looks" she said looking at the sky in amazement. I laughed and agreed with her.
I examined our surroundings and saw that tress once again started to circle in. "Are we getting closer" I questioned her. She nodded and slowed down to a small walk with Taebaek. Sunja did the same, she was trained to do the thing Tae did. "So, um I really didn't expect the commander to show up, sorry about that" Solji apologized. I sighed and puffed my cheeks out. You see the thing is, my uncle tried marrying me off to him, but I refused and I "brought shame" to the family name. I didn't care though he tried to do sexual things to me when I began to refuse him. "Its alright Solji, if you would have let me killed him things would be so much better" I said laughing. "YAHH if I let you then we surely would have been hunted down for" she yelled at me.
The moon was slowly making its way up into the sky. Solji and I sped our horses up a little. Deciding that it could be a little too dangerous to be out at night. I was curious as to how Silla looked. Solji never took me but according to her shes been her multiple times. Even though I felt a ting of hurt, maybe she was here for royal reasons. "You've got a point" I said shrugging. She sighed and looked at me saying "I would have defiantly killed him for you though." I looked at her in surprise and laughed.
We kept our pace like that for a while. As we kept riding the dark started taking over. The dark casting a shadow over our heads. Time flew by and looking ahead, I could see that there was a small river and small shabby looking houses. "This is were the peasants live? I can't imagine living here" I thought sadly. "We are here" Solji said with a proud smile.

A/N: okay so just a clear up in the story line. Right now Solji and Jiso are at the outer part of Silla. Where dog bird lives. But at this point Dog Bird and Mak Moon are already in the capital as well as Ji Dwi and all. Solji and Jiso are going to enter when Dog Bird and Mak moon go to Okta and the story well go from there. 👌😉
