"Wow this is really different from where we come from" Jiso said. Sunja huffed and moved her head up in down. I laughed knowing that she felt weird being at an unknown place. Taebaek just huffed and looked away from her galloping a bit ahead. I looked back at Jiso and she shrugged, almost like saying it wasn't her problem. As we slowly made our way into the small village, I noticed that no one was outside. "Mhm they must have fallen asleep and forgot" I thought. Baeksun, the messenger bird, let out a hoot and moved up to my shoulder. I petted its head a little and looked around the village. "Should we stop here or go on" Jiso asked.
I sighed and looked back at her. "Keep going towards the gates, we'll come back and visit sometime after we settle down" I said making Taebaek gallop. As we went through the small village I could see that it was slightly in better condition then it was the last time I visited. Looking around for Jung Po's and Su Paho's home. I found it rather quickly and sighed when I noticed that no light source could be seen. Finally reaching the gates, Jiso and I slowed our horses to a stop.
"There's no guards, that's strange" she mumbled. I narrowed my eyes in curiosity, scanning our surroundings. Suddenly, the gates were opened taking us by surprise. I quickly pulled the cloth over my mouth and nose, Jiso following my actions. We guided our horses inside the capital only to be greeted by the Queens commander.
I narrowed my eyes at him. Scanning him of any signs to attack. He only took a peak at my face and Jiso's before bowing. Everything started clicking. Someone must have entered as well. There should be guards by the gates at all times. What if someone important entered tonight? We couldn't be the only ones. I pulled my horse to a stop and turned to the commander. "The Queen sent you to open the gates" I questioned him. "Yes your highness, she has informed me that you were coming and wanted an entry without anyone knowing" he said briefly looking up.
"Is there any messages from the queen to me" I asked. "The queen wishes to see you tomorrow at the palace. Preferably early morning, she also sends her regards" he said. Baeksun decided it was time to crawl up to my shoulder and he let out a hoot. The commander looked at him then at me. "Tell the queen I'll try to be there as soon as I can, send my regards to her as well" I said getting Tae's reins in one hand and pulling him in the hotels direction. The commander bowed and made his horse go the other direction.
"Your highness, where should we rest tonight" Jiso whispered. I quickly looked around and noticed a small hotel thing, where it seemed that more guests were staying at. I nodded my head in the direction the building stood. As we got there we dismounted our horses and tied them up next to the others, Baeksun decided to stay behind with Taebaek and Sunja. Walking in the building I scanned the surroundings and noticed that it seemed to be very high priced.
"Greetings how may I help you young ladies" an old woman greeted us. "We would like a room for two please" Jiso said politely. The old woman scanned us up and down, she suspected something. "May I ask why the masks" she questioned us. Jiso pulled hers down to revel her identity. I looked at her in surprise but quickly put my face to normal as I could raise even more suspicion from the old woman.
"Sorry, we just came from traveling outside of the capital" Jiso said bowing lightly. "You're very beautiful child but may I ask why is your friend here not talking at all" she asked Jiso nodding at me. I held in my anger from the sign of disrespect but I remembered that I wasn't anyone here. I didn't have a royal title here, immediately I calmed down and pulled down my mask.
"My apologies" I said making my voice go an octave lower to sound more smooth and professional. "You know you look and sound like you belong to a royal branch, but of course you just told me that you came back from traveling" she said laughing a little. I stiffened when I heard her mention the word royal. "Hope you spend a wonderful night" she said handing Jiso the room number. "Thank you very much" Jiso said bowing. I quickly did too and followed behind her.
"I swear Solji you're to gorgeous to let anyone see your face" Jiso said sarcastically. Rolling my eyes at her tone I entered the room the was opened by her. "Aish Ji you know Im not even that good looking" I said laughing. She smiled and took a seat on the bed and she looked around. "Well so much for luxury" she said laughing. "Im sorry your highness but this is the best they have I guess" she said sighing.
"Well its better then nothing" I said patting her shoulder. We laid in complete silence and finally I broke the silence. "I can't sleep" I said sighing. Sitting up I looked at her and gave her a mischievous smile. "What are you up to now" she said sighing. "Let's go to Okta" I giving her my best smile. She pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.
