So, here she is.. On the top of the world. She's ready to jump off anytime. She's had enough with everything in this world. The world who only sees her as a "beautiful doll".

Just one more step, and she'll fall.

Yet, why does it feel so hard...? Why does she hesitate...?

Is it a fear of death...? A fear of heights...? No... it was neither of those.

Yamazaki Tomie, a regular 3rd year high schooler, surrounded by regular friends, loved by regular teachers. And yet... she is not a regular human.

Not because of her special ability to turn back time and travel places, she is half-fish. Her father used her as an experiment to create A new kind of human being. His father's crazed ideals, made her brother die from his illegal experimentations and surgeries and because of those same experiments... she herself... has gills.

Because of that, Tomie sometimes need to drown herself in water, and though her friends sometimes sees that as strange, it doesn't stop them from getting closer to her.

Because she's beautiful...

Her beauty attracts everyone, females who despises her and are jealous of her goes near her to mock her behind her back, while men who craves her and wants to be with her stalks her everyday life... whatever the reason may be, people wants to be near her. Her beauty is both a gift... and a curse.

"Being beautiful hurts..."

It is the thought that goes on in her mind, the sentence she thinks an execution and is what ravages her way of thought... something she cannot simply deny.

The only thing she want... is for people to see her as what she actually is... and not just by her appearance.

After a second thought, the girl decided to cancel her attempt at jumping off the school building, and went home. The sunset was brilliant. The orange-colored rays shined her body as she walked towards the river, and drown herself there. Watching the fish peacefully swim, calming her.

She smiles, almost out of relieve. And when she thought she had enough, she was about to go back when a sudden rapid current splashed her and forced her away.

Though she has gills, she can't swim. Yet, sadly, it didn't mean she could stay underwater forever. She still needed to breathe, and she had already drank too much of the water as she stays there.

She will die...

She was about to surrender herself and let the river take her, guide her to wherever death may be, but, suddenly, someone grabbed her...

And saved her...

"Thank you... for saving me..." said Tomie to the man who saved her. Tomie looks at the man in black, clad in bandages everywhere around him "Umm..." she paused "Are you alright...?"

the man chuckled "I am now that I've found you..." the man kissed Tomie's hands, and she lightly blushes.

"Umm... H-how should I repay you...?" asked Tomie as the man puts her down.

"Let's see... I have always wanted to commit suicide with such a beautiful woman~" hearing that, Tomie was rather surprised "though perhaps that isn't a wish that should be granted immediately" continued the man.
