Still Got Time

Chapter 5

Today was the sixth chair challenge and to say I was nervous would be an understatement.I was so nervous that I actually became a bit sick. I was running a fever.I mean this has never  happened to me before but then again I have never participated in The X Factor before.Plus my lack of sleep could also be the reason for my condition. It was not that I was so sick that I couldn't even get up. It was just a bit of fever and so I did not pay much attention to it.

After having my makeup and hair done by the makeup artists I thanked them and went to the backstage to my gang. By 'my gang' I mean Lauren, Levi and Alex . Over the past two weeks the four of us bonded quite well and I really hoped that me and Lauren would get selected too.The boys already had their six chair challenge yesterday and both Levi and Alex got selected and both of us were so proud of them.

"Hey  Pancake how are you feeling now?"Alex asked as he slung an arm around my shoulder pulling me close. Our dear friend Alex here thought that it would be a good idea to call me Pancake as it was the only thing that I ate for breakfast with loads of chocolate sauce that is.

"I have seen better days 'potato'." I replied smugly.

"Don't call me potato Pancake. Does this hot stuff looks like a potato to you? "He said guesting to his body.

"Get over yourself potato."I said and as usual our bickering started.

Lauren and Levi just stood their with smug looks.

"Why are you looking at us like that?"I asked us stopping abruptly from my arguing session with potato.

"You guys argue like an old married couple"Lauren said.

I blushed while Alex scratched the back of his neck.

"You guys we don't _"I started as one of the crew members announced that the show would be starting in two minutes

"All the best girls you'll do great"Levi said as he kissed Lauren. He then hugged me and wished me luck. Then Alex hugged me as I tip toed and wrapped my arms around his neck."Go kick some ass."He joked and then he suddenly froze."Hey Pancake you are hot."he said. "Pffft I know right i am hot. Haha"I joked. "No silly I mean your body temp you are running a fever. Are you sure you can sing today."he asked concerned. At this both Levi and Lauren started lecturing me about how I should take care of myself and how I am so careless and blah blah blah.
Seriously guys I am alright. Don't worry too much okay?"I assured them

"And first on the stage is Lauren Smith"Dermout announced and Lauren was off to go. She was singing flight song by Rachel platen. Oh boy her performance was awesome. She was so good. She definitely proved Zayn that she deserves a seat.
"Well Lauren I will be a fool if I let a talent like you go home. Go and grab a chair. You deserve it. Congratulations.

"Thank you. Thank you so much Zayn."she said as she told took her chair.
Next was my turn and I am definitely going to grab a chair beside Lauren.

I had decided to sing a classic and my all time favourite song by Elvis Presley.I really hope that Zayn likes it.

As I completed I heard cheers and claps.I joined my hands together and thanked everyone.
"Zayn if I was you I would never let her go"Simon said.

"Well I think it was really good Rhea.But you realise that I have only six chairs so I have to take a moment.Also I believe that your are having bit of a sore throat?",Zayn asked  and I nodded and acted like I was okay but actually I was freaking out.After discussing with the other judges  Zayn spoke up again, "Well  Rhea,go grab your chair.

Fuck yesss!!!!I cheered internally(sadly we were not allowed to swear on the show) I jumped up and down like a mad lady and thanked Zayn,before going over to the fourth chair and hugging Lauren.

After that two more girls,Hadley and Alexa  performed but they did not go through and I felt very bad for them.But I didn't know what was coming for me.

After that Sarah,Anna and Serena  went through and now only no chair was left.And then came one of the best vocalist of the competition ,Samantha and I was terrified.
Zayn was quite impressed with her performance and he even gave her a standing ovation.Well she deserved it.

"Wow that was incredible.I can't believe you are not a recording artist already.I would buy your music any day.You need to have a seat."Zayn said.

All of us six girls were terrified.It is so freaking hard it get a chair first and the be thrown out of it.Thats cruel.We all held hands as we waited for the results.

"Samantha  I want you to replace seat number 4"Zayn said.
Wait.What?
That's me.

Tears began to fill up my eyes as I got up from my chair.I hugged Sam and congratulated her.Then I hugged Lauren and she started sobbing with me.
When I went backstage I saw Alex and I ran into his arms and sobbed into his shirt.
"I wanted this so bad Alex" I tried to say between my sobs.
"Don't worry love,this is not the end of the road you are meant to do amazing things."He tried to console me.

Just then a crew member came up to me and said,"Hey Rhea you are called on the stage by Zayn"
"He called me.Now?"I asked dumbly.
"Yeah come on now."He replied impatiently.
"They are giving you a chance Pancake.All the best.Alex said.
"Thank you Alex.Bye."I said wiping my tears and following the crew guy.

*WHAT HAPPENED WHEN RAY LEFT THE STAGE* (Third person's POV)

"Bring her back!" "Bring her back" The crowd started chearing rapidly.
Zayn had to give her a chance
"okay bring her back then"Zayn said but he had no idea who Ray was going to replace and then suddenly he had an idea.

Ray's POV

"Hey Rhea.I have decided that there is going to be a sing off between you Anna." Zayn said as I entered the stage.

I sighed.I was not ready for this.My whole body was on fire because of the fever and I felt that I was about to throw up.

Anna sang first and boy was she amazing.But I am amazing too and I am going to sing as if this is the last performed of my life.

I sang Bang Bang by Jessie J,Ariana Grande and Nicky Minaj.When I reached the rap part the crowd went wild.I ended my performance thanking everyone.Zayn  was deciding for few minutes.I was breathing heavily and my head was spinning.
"The sixth chair goes to you Rhea" was the last thing I heard before I fainted and I remember two strong arms lifting me up seconds later.
