KEVEDD~4th Of July (One Shot)

Fireworks!

The fireworks didn't take long to start.

"Look Edd!"

The large booms made Double D jump. He closed his eyes leaning closer to Kevin.

"Hey Dork. Whats wrong?" Kevin asked.

"Sorry... I just... I never told you about this situation but... I'm not really fond of fireworks." Double D said before jumping in fear as another boom went up in the sky.

"What?!"

"Yeah. When I was younger, there was this group of kids in my elementary school who lit some fireworks really close to me at the playground. They were super close that when they went off, a painful ringing in my ears led me to start crying. Ever since that day, I'm afraid of fireworks."

"Why didn't you tell me about this Edd?" Kevin asked getting on his feet.

"I didn't want you to think of me as weakling."

"I would never thing that about you Double Dork. I think you are the cutest and smartest person ever. I love you."

"Really... I love you too."

"C'mon. Let's get you inside." Kevin said holding out his hand to help Edd up.

"N-no! I want to enjoy this day with you. I will not allow a simple phobia to ruin this moment."

Kevin was in shock on how determined his dork sounded. He was facing his fear so he could spend time with him. Kevin smiled and Edd and sat next to him, holding him tightly.

"Kevin..."

"I love you so much..."

The fireworks continued to shine in the night sky. After some time, Double D seemed to be enjoying the show. Kevin could see Double D smiling his adorable gaped- toothed smile.

"Look Kevin. The Grand Finale!" Edd said pointing up at the continues bursts of color.

"Yeah..."

Suddenly, Kevin turned Double D around. The fireworks made Edd's face light up in the dark. he then slowly touched the nerd's cheek and erased the space between their lips. Kevin put a hand under Edd's shirt and another in the back of his head deepening the kiss. Double D loved the Kevin's touch and he slowly lost all feeling in his body. Kevin started to lay Double D on the roof making his way on top of him.

They kissed deeper and deeper. Edd loved the feeling of being in Kevin's strong arms. He felt so safe every time he was with him.

Kevin loved having his little nerd in his arms, kissing him softly. He felt like he needed to protect his dork from everything. He couldn't imagine himself without him.

After what seemed like forever, they broke from their tender kiss.

"I'm afraid we missed the finale."

"You're a much better show dork."

Double D's cheeks turned bright red earning a chuckle from Kevin.
