Smile at the end of the world

Phil's POV:
"I've opened my eyes, it's up to the civilizations of the universe to judge themselves." Said Quiz

"Stay classy, Quiz"

Suddenly, a laser-like beam started to charge at the sky.

"Could that be?" Smiley said in a worried tone

"Oh no..."

I already knew who it was. "That must be Diz. Take me up there in your ship Quiz."

"Does this mean you have a plan?" Quiz said

"No... I've got nothing"

"Fair enough"

I don't know if I could return back here alive so I've got to confess it. It's now or never

"But before I go..."

"I'm the boss, I'm the boss, I'm the boss" I whispered to myself to shake off the nervousness

"Smiley..."

Smiley's POV
I felt my heartbeat running when I heard my name.

"I know I used to tease you a lot before. But now I realized you're a true role model for me" Phil said. I could hear his nervousness just from the shaking of his voice

Right before he entered Quiz's ship he said "Also, you have a beautiful smile"

When I heard those words, I froze faster than Zack.

When he left, I'm still there looking at the sky with tears in my eyes

"He left... I didn't even get the chance to say I like him too"

"Hey, It's gonna be fine" Zack said

"Yeah, I know him, he's smart. He'll come back" Phred said

They're trying to calm me but I can't, I can't even fake a smile. So we just sat there waiting for a miracle to happen

In Quiz's ship

Phil's POV
"I haven't used this ship in combat. It's up to you to find something in this ship we can use to battle" Quiz said

I sigh and get off my chair

~Time skip brought to you by Phil, solving puzzles~

I opened the hatch only to find a self-destruct button

"Uh... Quiz? I thought you have some fancy ammunitions here"

Quiz said nothing as he pressed the button

"Self destruct mechanism activated; Detonation in 60, 59 58..."

"Take the escape pod" Quiz said in a worried tone

"WHAT?!" but he didn't say anything "QUIZ, I'M NOT LEAVING YOU HERE"

"There's only room for one of us in that escape pod Phil! You have friends waiting for you back there. Get in before I push you in" Quiz said almost crying

I looked down as I walked into the escape pod

As Quiz pressed the eject button I watched as his ship went closer to Diz's ship

"..3..2..1"

I watched as a good friend of mine sacrificed

Back on Riddle Elementary

Smiley's POV
KABOOM!!!

We stood up as we heard a loud explosion when the laser beam was gone

"Oh no... PHIL!!!"

Zack ran to me trying to calm me down

I noticed that Phred has a smirk on his face as he said "Cue... Phil"

When he said that I turned my eyes to the sky whereas an unidentified thing was falling down to our spot

"EVERYONE HIDE!!!" Zack shouted as we ran inside the school

When the dust settled, we went back outside to see something that looked like an escape pod...

Wait a minute...

ESCAPE POD!?!

I gasped as it opened. I saw Phil inside

"I knew you'd be back" Phred said

While Zack gave him a 'thumbs up' I ran to him and hugged him tightly like there was no tomorrow

Phil's POV
Ow! That landing was painful AF. But hey at least Smiley's hug eases the pai- WHOA WHAT!? Smiley's hugging me?! That explains why I can't feel the pain. I can't do anything now so I just hug her back

"DON'T YOU EVER SCARE ME AGAIN LIKE THAT PHIL!!!" Said Smiley holding back her tears

"I promise not to if you stop breaking more of my ribs!" I said jokingly, then again I saw that cute smile of hers

"Ohmygod!! I'm so sorry!"

Heh, she's so cute, only my vision's starting to blackout because of... probably tiredness

"Yeah, It's cool but... can someone call... an ambulance? I feel like... I'm gonna... Pass ou--"

...aaand that's the last thing I remember before completely blacking out
