"I do.. I really do- did.. miss you.. but Im sorry. I cant go back."

Regardless how long its been, Laura couldn't willingly bring herself to leave behind the friends she met. She really did grow to love Consora. This awful, sadistic place that feed off the souls living in it, in which was a place of art and expression where laws be damned and sin sang free.

Regardless, her brother refused excitement to exile.
"Laura, you understand why we cant stay here." He chuckled, and his tone shifted when the look on her face told him she did not, and she wont be leaving anytime soon.

"Laura, you understand why we cant stay here, right." Demanding and forcibly agreeable, just like when she was a kid. But this was a whole other game.
Regardless, that forced no hesitation.
"Right. So you should go. Leave me, live happy."

Her inner voice hissed at her for the words. She just got him back, she loved him.

Like a tiger in the tall grass, he was still,
and deadly. "No." He simply said.

And with that, he grabbed her arm and dragged her out of the apartment.
He retaliated her remarks with his chiding,
"Im not going to lose my little sister. Not again, you don't know what you want so Ill have to show you what you could have left behind."

She wrenched her arm away,
"Ruben-"
But he had already swiftly threw her over his back. Now is when she couldn't help but think where the hell Shelby was. Though she supposed Shelby would be more than happy to see her leave, she would think she still has a willingness to protect her friend.

It had to be Gods will, because anything else and it would make them sound screwy, but he somehow managed to safely get them out of the building using.. the right way of getting out of a building. Down the stairs, take two lefts. Maybe nobody had spotted them, maybe nobody wanted to get involved in Lauras tantrum. Maybe they saw them as a prey catching another unfortunate victim. Laura was grateful there heads where in tack either way.

He colorfully cursed to himself outside, and with what she gathered it seemed his van had gotten stolen. The fool.

"Just let me go, Im not fighting you."
"Because you cant." He neglected any further argument.
Laura sighed. "I can get you your van back."
She offered, still hanging off his shoulder.
"But only if you promise we can come to a negotiation."

And it was now, finally, he slowly let her down.

"Listen," he breathed. "hearing your voice.. wow.. Im sorry Ive been rough. Its just.. my little sister.. surviving in a place like this.."

"Trust me," she snorted.
"I cant believe it myself."

After a long talk hiding in the shadows, Ruben and Laura soon spent the rest of the night searching every street corner after their agreement. A storm hit and, being to prideful to complain, they hooded themselves in the cover of falling rain, and at last, shivering in their clothes, there was the noise of a gang and.. a car engine?

To no surprise a gang had highjacked the car. Understanding her brothers poor knowledge of the unwritten rules of Consora, she didn't waiste her breath on a lecture rather,
"Guess you'll be staying here."

He shook his head. "What do you mean? Where here aren't we?"
"Theres a gang surrounding it. No way in hell are we getting it back."

He looked back up,
"They don't seem to be paying attention to it now."
She breathed. "Ruben. Its gone, it belongs to the cities wings now."
"Go get it." He demanded, throwing her the keys.
She caught them threw habit from her training with Aron. She groaned.
"Ruben-"

"Go," he put a pistol to her head. "get it."

He tilted his head, and with the shocked expression still on her face, she chocked out
"How?"
"I don't care. I want my fucking car back Laura." He smiled.

She nodded, stepping back if only to get away from the guns cold metal kiss.
She went threw a small office building and out a window to get behind the van, lurking behind under the safety of her hood. She unlocked the van door, cringing at the noise it made before settling at the realization of the gangs hooting and barking and screaming.

She was spotted as she got in the passengers seat, turning the key and hearing the engine hiss as a gang banger flashed his teeth in the window beside her. The engine roared as she sped threw the ally, hitting a few heads as she did. She sped straight until finally, her brother was out of sight.
