Chapter Three- Chainsaw Noises

"That's much better." Brittney said when she turned her air conditioner and fan on. It was a hot night and Brittney wanted to be nice and cold. She decided to read whatever book before going to bed. She turned on the lamp beside her bed and she grabbed a book that had ghost stories. As she was settling down into bed with her book, she heard what sounded like a chainsaw. Confused, she got out of bed and looked out the window. Nothing. Brittney shrugged and she got in bed and she started reading. Just as she had started reading, she heard what sounded like a chainsaw. She was angry now and she went outside in her pajamas. Brittney looked around. "Whoever is making those chainsaw noises," She began fiercely, her cheeks red. "Just stop it! I'm trying to read a good book that has ghost stories but I can't do that if you keep making those chainsaw noises"! She said loudly. Brittney looked around before going back into the house. She went back into her bedroom and she decided to play music to drown out the sounds of a chainsaw. Brittney played some music before getting in bed and she read her book. After a while, she closed her book, turned off her music, and turned off the lamp. Brittney set her book on her nightstand and she fell asleep. It was around three in the morning before she woke up to hearing a chainsaw only it was closer. Brittney grabbed the teddy bear that was left on her doorstep and she grabbed a flashlight. She slipped on some shoes before going outside. She turned on her flashlight and looked around. Brittney was getting scared and nervous now. She heard the chainsaw noises again. Brittney closed the door to her house before running. The chainsaw noises were getting closer. She held the teddy bear close to her chest and she held the flashlight tightly. Brittney stopped to catch her breath and she panted heavily, her chest hurting. She shined the flashlight around her surroundings.
