"My Lord Father..." Lord Frostwing whispered. Gentle light engulfed his body and filled his mind with peace. "I knew, you wouldn't leave us alone in the darkness." A smile of pure bliss formed on his lips, but suddenly, the warmth faded. A chilling coldness crept up Lord Frostwing's body and he felt his soul drowning in darkness. "My Lord Father...!" he whispered and reached out for the light. But it was gone... nothing but darkness remained. "Father..." the seraph wanted to plead, but by now even his voice was frozen in the cold. No... he was alone... all alone in the dark. Everyone was dead...

"Father!" Lord Frostwing yelled and his eyes stop open.

"Hey hey... I'm not your father." an unfamiliar voice told him. Yet, it was a strangely calming one. The seraph exhaled slowly and pushed himself up on his ellbows, until he could look around. And then he saw him. Right beside the bed on a chair, there was a young man, maybe in his early twenties. He seemed to have been reading a book, which was closed and rested on his legs. And now, those icy blue eyes looked right at him. Yes... he remembered them. This was the man, who had previously treated his wounds.

"Jace..." he remembered the man's name.

"Yup, that's me." the man nodded and one corner of his mouth slowly curled upwards into a faint grin. But immediately, it vanished again. "So... and you're Frostwing, right?" At that comment, Lord Frostwing's eyebrows shot upwards in question. "Well, that's what you told me at least." Jace shrugged.

"Ashen... just call me Ashen." the seraph slowly said. Somehow, these words seemed to pain him. "Frostwing is my surname, as you would say. It doesn't matter... anymore."

"Alright, Ashen... is it." Jace nodded. "Do you feel like you can get up now? I mostly got you patched up, but you still look like you could need a walk to the bathroom. And I should change the bed sheet... if you don't want to lie in your own blood."

"I could try." Ashen agreed. Jace put his book aside and got ready to support him if he would sway, but surprisingly there was no problem. Well, at least not until they reached the small bathroom. The seraph looked around, as if he had never seen sanitary installations ever before. "So..." he slowly asked. "What am I supposed to do now?"

"Seriously?" Jace raised one eyebrow. "Your head wasn't injured, right? You should be able to take a small shower. Your wounds surprisingly mostly closed up already."

"A shower?" Ashen asked. "Might it be this little cabin here?" And he pointed towards the shower cabin. "Well sorry for having such a small bathroom..." the ravenhaired huffed and glared at him. "No... that is not..." Ashen sighed. "How do I use this? And what does it do?"

"For real?" Jace blinked. "You get naked, step inside and turn the water on. Then, you clean yourself with the soap and afterwards dry your body with one of the towels. What are you, a kid?" For now, the seraph decided to keep at least his last bit of dignity and chose not to answer. As for his clothes... well beside a towel around his waist, he didn't really wear anything anyway. He simply let it drop to the floor, before stepping into the cabin and eying the shower curiously.

"Whoa... at least wait until I'm out!" Jace complained and quickly left the room. He couldn't help but notice all those well-built muscles and a quite delicious looking piece of ass though. Either, this strange fellow had never experienced humanity ever before... or he simply wanted to pull a weird joke. And somehow Jace got the feeling, it was the first choice.

A sudden outcry pulled him out of his idle thoughts and he spun around, jerking the door open, only to find Ashen stumble out of the shower cabin. "It feels like ice!" the man complained. "Why does it feel like that?"

Jace sighed and rubbed his temples. He could already feel a huge headache approaching. And he was quite sure, he couldn't leave Ashen alone in his room to do his nightshift either. "Listen... you have to adjust the temperature first." he explained almost too calmly. Reaching into the cabin, he changed the water to a nice, warm spray, before making way for Ashen again. "Once again now." he ordered.

Warily, the seraph stepped into the cabin once again and this time, a comfortable sigh fled from his lips. Jace quickly cleared his throat and stepped out again, doing his best to banish the picture from his head. Why oh why did he have to stumble into this mess? Or rather... why did Ashen have to crash down right into his hiding place atop Castel Sant'Angelo?

He might have to report this to the higher-ups, even more if his suspicions proved to be right. A man, who looked like a shooting star crashing down from the sky... golden shimmering blood seeping from his wounds... no human sense at all... Jace just wondered why this special fellow had left heaven. Was he tossed out? But no... that wouldn't explain his wounds. And somehow, as the ravenhaired man glanced out of the window and into the thunder storm, he got a really really bad feeling.

Inside the shower, Ashen closed his eyes and raised his face into the warm spray of water. He surely must have confused Jace with his behavior already... But back then in heaven, he never really bothered to learn about humans. They were god's children, loved by him so dearly and they needed to be protected. They were capable of incredible kindness and utmost cruelty. Beside that, there was nothing interesting about them, or so he had thought. But now, Ashen slowly started to change his opinion.

This ravenhaired man, who had brought him to this place and treated his wounds somehow piqued his interest. Why would he go that far for a stranger? He certainly didn't seem like one of those people, who would toss their own desires aside for someone else. Rather, it seemed like he would ignore everything but his own business completely, if he felt so. Then why...?

But slowly, Ashen's idle thoughts got lost, as he gave in to the pleasures of a hot shower. It felt so good... no wonder humans would like to shower. The seraph ran his fingers through his sunkissed hair and enjoyed the simple feeling of the touch. In the heavenly realms, there hadn't been such intense feelings at all... everything was calm and composed, caught in a gentle silence. There had been no need for showers or even clothes. If he wanted to wear something, he simply thought of himself as clothed and it happened. But being naked wasn't really wrong either. Why should one be ashamed of his body, a creation of god?

Jace however did seem to be bothered by his nakedness, at least that's what Ashen concluded from his previous behavior. The seraph let his fingers explore the smooth skin of his chest, then down to his stomach. Nothing seemed off, so why...? Further down, he could feel his manhood, lying in a nest of equally sunkissed hair. But as his fingers touched there, a soft shiver ran down his spine and he closed his eyes. This felt so much different from his life in the heavenly realm!

Maybe he should explore more of those human feelings... But suddenly, a voice calling him from behind the closed door stopped any further experiments. "Ashen. everything alright in there?" Jace called and knocked. "If you're done, just turn the water off the same way I turned it on. There's a new towel by the sink!"

After doing as he was told, Ashen stepped out of the cabin and indeed found the mentioned towel. It was big and soft, but the deep purple color somehow seemed so different from all the colors he knew from heaven. One wouldn't find anything but pastel shades there... This however, it seemed so alive! The seraph buried his face in the soft fabric and inhaled the scent. Despite being fresh, it still had a faint hint of Jace's smell on it. Somehow, acting like this seemed wrong, so he quickly pulled away again. But rubbing his skin dry with it didn't seem much better either...

Unsure, as to what he should do next, he wrapped the damp towel around his waist, since he didn't want to bother Jace with his nakedness. Outside, he found Jace waiting by the window. The ravenhaired man was staring into the darkness of the night, a deep frown on his face. The thunder storm seemed to have died down, but there was still a weird atmosphere in the air.

Ashen sat down on the newly covered bed and simply watched Jace staring into the night. "It ended." the seraph eventually said, earning a glance from the other man. "No." Jace shook his head slowly. "I think it just began." As to that... Ashen couldn't really say anything.
