This song kind of fits so y'all should give it a listen! The playlist I've been racking up is pretty legit so keep on listening haha!
Isabella's POV:
My mind was a haze, and the only thing I could think of was the war. Caius' deranged laugh echoed in my brain and I felt like I was paralyzed once again. My body was shaking, sweat covered me, and Shayla's empty smile as blood surrounded her body filled my vision. If I could scream, I'm sure I would be, but for some reason I couldn't even move. Niall's bloody body lying against the rock, the hopeless look on his face too much for me to bear.
Harry's image flashed in my mind, seeing his eyes wide in shock as the ammo from the blunderbuss tore through his stomach, blood spurting from his mouth and his wound. Him lying on the ground, unmoving and in a dead-like state.
I felt like I couldn't breathe. Nothing was working. My body wasn't responding. I couldn't move, couldn't breathe, and couldn't help anyone. I tried over and over again to breathe, trying to take in deep breaths, but it wouldn't work. I could feel Caius' hand grab my head and slam it into the ground, the impact making everything in me jar.
I took in a deep breath and sat up straight, ragged breaths quickly coming in and out of my mouth, my eyes wide as I stare at the room around me.
A dream? I think wearily, putting a hand to my head, letting out a shaky breath. My body ached with pain and every movement made me wince. I was sweating pretty badly, but nothing compared to the state I was in in the dream.
"Miss Bella, you're finally awake."
The relieved voice makes me turn my head, seeing Hunter looking at me with a smile. He was sitting on a chair with some papers in his hand, and I raised an eyebrow.
"What's going on?" I ask and he gives me a worried look.
"You were out for an entire week. It wasn't a very pretty sight. There were traces of poison all throughout your body, not to mention a horrible amount of wounds. The poison made your body fragile, and you got very, very lucky," he says and I furrow my eyebrows.
"One more hard blow to your body would've shattered your bones." he says and my eyes widen.
"It was that bad?" I ask lowly and he nods.
"You were in worse shape than most everyone, as I feared. You went in and out of consciousness for a few days, but the rest of the time you were out, constantly sweating and tense. It seemed you were in a bad place," he says, raising his eyebrows at me pointedly and I look away from his gaze. "Maybe you could not escape from something in your mind." he says and I swallow, the flashes from my nightmares still on in my head.
"Not to mention your heart almost gave out on you twice because of all of this combined. But now that you're awake, it will make treatment a whole lot easier. Your heart should be steadier now that you're up, so we'll be able to treat your injuries without fear of losing you." he says and I look at him surprised.
I knew I wasn't in the best shape during the war, especially after my encounter with Caius, but I didn't think the poison would leave me in that bad of condition.
"Thank you for healing me." I say gratefully and Hunter flashes me a smile. "You're more than welcome, Miss Bella. You have a lot of people anxious to see you." he says and I gasp.
"Layla? Is she okay?" I ask hurriedly and Hunter nods his head.
"Relax, Miss. Layla is doing just fine. She's been waiting with the Queen. Louis and Lloyd are there as well." he says and a smile comes to my face before it falls, my shoulders slumping down.
