The Day Before 🌸

The day before the wedding arrived and I was more anxious than I was nervous. Mikasa had to punch me in the arm during training to get me to focus. I looked at her, blinking a few times before getting into the correct stance for the maneuver we were practicing.

Levi was in his office with Hanji and Commander Erwin. They were going over all the paperwork they had received recently. It had to of been pretty serious, because they came in promptly at 0730 and Levi had me leave the room shortly after. He said it was 'official business'.

I had scoffed at him when he shut the door, crossing my arms and turning on my heel to walk away. That walk quickly turned into a sprint when he suddenly opened the door again to scold me for being disrespectful. I should've known he'd hear it. Levi has the ears and eyes of a hawk. You could be down the hall and down the stairs and sneeze, but that man would STILL hear you.

'You'll get your punishment soon.' echoed in my head for an hour until I forgot about it due to training. Several hours later, I sat at the table with my usual group, each of us laughing at any jokes we came up with.

"That paperwork must be pretty important. They had lunch delivered to Corporals office." Eren said, taking a bite of his bread.

I shrugged. "I guess so. He'll probably make me scrub the floors if anything gets dropped." I laughed, followed by the laughter of the others.

"Careful, he might make you run laps for being 'disobedient'." Jean mused.

I scoffed. "That's not the worst of his punishments." I was looking down at my food when I heard everyone lean forward towards me. Looking up, I had each of their faces about two feet from mine.

I sighed. "No. I'm not telling you. Now sit back down."

They all groaned and sat back. A small laugh made its way through my lips before I burst out laughing at their reactions. Each of them slowly started laughing as well. Five minutes later and we were all in hysterics.

Armin looked at me once we settled down. "Since you're marrying the Lance Corporal, does that mean you'll immediately be promoted and leave us?" He looked genuinely worried. Oh Armin. You sweet boy.

I smiled and gently held his face with one hand. "I'm not sure that I'll be promoted until I earn it. But I will NEVER leave you guys. You are all the family I have left. I will never leave you behind." I wiped a small tear from my cheek as Armin hugged me, Eren and Mikasa joining soon after.

Later on, I sat outside in the cool air of the night with the three of them. It was peaceful. I hadn't heard a thing from Levi, though I could see the light coming from a window that was just opened. Looking up, I saw Levi standing in his office window looking down at me. I smiled and waved at him, earning a smile and small wave in return.

He mouthed 'I love you' , waiting for me to mouth it back before turning back to presumably face Commander or Hanji.

I turned back to the three before me and saw they were all smiling. I could tell they were happy for me, they have been from the start. Eren gently placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Are you nervous for tomorrow? " He asked as his green eyes reflected the moonlight.

I nodded, the feeling hitting me like a truck. "Yeah, I am. Yet, I can't wait. I also get to see you in a suit." I laughed and pinched his cheek.

He groaned at the fact and held his cheek, causing us to laugh again. I love them. They're my best friends in the whole world. I couldn't ask for better people to have by my side. To fight Titans with. To save humanity with..
