A River Of Forgiveness

The arrow tip quivered in the hard wood, the vibrations echoing out through the trees as bandits rushed out of the darkened woodland, brandishing a peculiar mix of axes, clubs, swords and maces, all, however, brandishing menacing and unforgiving states as the armoured Knights swung elegantly, yet swiftly off their steeds.

A wooden-ended knife saw through the ragged servants ragged shirt with ease and accuracy, the jagged blade pinning the gangly young man, leaving him as easy prey for the blood thirsty savages that seemed to be swarming in their hundreds. Blood seemed to ooze out of their very eyes as their hungry teeth set upon the helpless creature.

The torrent of men cloaked in black seemed to never end, even the evening sun steadily shining and warming their clothes didn't act as a deterrence for them, the valiant soldiers fighting with all their might bit tiring quickly as the bodies pilled up. The oldest knight, the one with loyalty and responsibility in abundance was the first to see the struggling servant, who was fighting not only with his ragged tunic but also the hoards of swords swinging towards the young man.

The battle seemed to gruel on for hours, the clash of metal and against metal ringing through the forest trail, echoing against the ancient oak as they shed their branches at the will of their master, his golden eyes concealed by the glittering sun, its beams working as one with the foundation of the earth and sky, rolling with its living being.

As swiftly as it began, and so swiftly they were dispatched, by the gleaming silver of steel, the red capes fluttering through the breeze were left unstained by the dark liquid coating the already dappled forest floor. However too late did the wise knight notice his swift action had been moments too slow, as the bird like body crumpled to the ground paper, a bony hand clutching a ghastly slice through the tunic.

The air grew silent with sorrow.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this, I like writing these short pieces of prose so hopefully I'll update this again soon, I know where it's going s well (unlike younger Itha who never planned anything) so in theory it'll be easier to pick it up!

Stay safe Doodle Bunnies!
