Elliot has missed out on gym every day for as long as Emma's been going to school with him. He has obvious health problems, but he doesn't tell anyone. Now having to join him, Emma gets to learn about what it's like on the bench; with having the occasional student visiting, to getting in on the unspoken rule of eating what seems like a thousand almonds in a gym class. Together they discuss life and death and everything in between, and face the obscure and terrifying medical world.
