(Btw, above is the outfit she's wearing and the theme song for this chapter!)
Alan's POV~
It took all within me not to groan and shut the door in his face. I had almost kissed the woman I've been thinking about since the moment I met her. Those striking eyes of hers, her dark hair falling perfectly and framing her beautiful pale face. It was driving me mad; I was utterly helpless! I put on a fake smile and walked with Ava to the set.
No matter how long I've been in the acting business I still get excited when we get on set. I step into character and almost become my character entirely. I turn to Ava and smile at how adorable she looks as she tries to take in everything. "I really did like your singing." I say and almost cringe at how ridiculous I sound. Ava smiles and kisses my cheek, "Thanks. I'll see you later." She turns and walks off with Emma to talk over the details of the voiceover. Meanwhile, I just stand speechless and touch the spot where she kissed me with my hand. My lips curl into a smile.
"Alan! We need to you for makeup and costume!" I hear Stephen shout pulling me out of my daze. I walk over to them and sit in the chair as the makeup crew and costume crew work their magic. Erykah, who is the head of design for the movie, is the best in the business. Without her I don't know where we'd be. Sure, she can be a little over enthusiastic but we all love her anyway.
Ava's POV~
A wave of disappointment washed over me. I was so wishing to kiss Alan, I admit I'd been fantasizing about it for a while. That doesn't sound creepy at all. Alan and I walked onto set and my jaw almost dropped at how amazing it looked. There were lights, people, cameras and a large podium like area. I was guessing that's where the cameras would be focusing.
I was interrupted by Alan looking and smiling at me. His eyes studied me intently making me blush softly, "I really did like your singing." I smile at the compliment and my heart rate speeds up. What was I doing? When he could have any woman he wanted, why would be choose me? Before I realized what was happening I had kissed him on cheek. "Thanks. I'll se you later." I said and noticed Emma waving me over.
I walked with her to where Stephen was sitting, when he saw us and smiled. "My two favorite ladies! Wonderful! Now, Thomas is in charge of sound so he'll be walking you both through the process." He pointed to a man talking to Erykah, he was tall and had brown hair tied into a tight bun. "Thomas!" Stephen shouted and Thomas turned and waved which gave us a view of his brown goatee. He looked nice.
Needless to say...it was a busy crazy day. There was a lot of moving around and doing voiceover practices with Emma and Thomas. I had barley gotten to see Alan which saddened me but my new friends cheered me up. Emma was like a mother/ best friend, she was patient and caring. Thomas on the other hand was like a goofy brother. He made people laugh and would tease me constantly when he found out I liked Alan. Well, more like dragged it out of me. Emma now knew too but she was supportive as well.
"Alright everyone, were done for today. Tomorrow will be shortened since Christmas is approaching!" Everyone cheered and started to pack up and leave chatting happily about their Christmas plans. My heart dropped, I had forgot about the holidays coming up. I didn't have anyone to spend them with; my parents died in a place crash a few years ago. I was with them but I was one of the few who survived but it was a painful experience. I had the scars to prove it. The rest of my family didn't want anything to do with me since they blamed me for my parents death.
Alan's POV~
After I had said goodbye to Emma I looked around for Ava. I found her hanging outside by the exit with a sad expression on her face. "Is something troubling you?" She was obviously lost in thought because she jumped when she saw me. "Oh! Hi Alan, I'm fine don't worry." I didn't believe her but I decided to drop it. "What are your plans for Christmas?" I asked and her face dropped more. "I don't really have any plans..."
"Well, I don't have any either..do you want to spend it with me?" God, that sounded creepy but it seemed to do the trick because she smiled. "That sounds great! Do you want to meet me at the book shop day after tomorrow?" My heart warmed at how cute she was when she did- well anything. We exchanged numbers and made plans to meet. I already couldn't wait to see her again.
(Time skip to their meeting because I'm the writer and I can! ✨Also, this is when Ava is wearing the outfit I posted at the beginning.)
Ava's POV~
I had to admit that I was practically bursting with excitement to meet Alan. Last night I had called Bonnie and Tyler to tell them about it. Bonnie was super excited on the other hand Tyler was super jealous but he was happy for me anyway.
I walked into the book shop and breathed in the smell of books which always made me smile. Yep, I'm that person. I've always loved reading: it calms me and cheers me up when I need it. The book shop was owned by a sweet young man who had finished college two years ago. His name was John, he and I knew each other quite well since I've been coming here ever since it opened.
"Good afternoon Ava! How've you been?" John asked smiling and putting down his book. "Hey John. I'm great actually, I got that voiceover job." He smiled and gave me a high five, "That's awesome! Congratulations." I said my thanks and wandered off to the back of the shop while John went back to his book. My fingers brushed the spines of the many books until they stopped on one, 'King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table'. I sat down on the floor cross legged and started to read.
Alan's POV~
I laid in bed for about fifteen seconds before I remembered that I was meeting Ava at the bookshop. I sprinted out of bed and got ready not really paying attention to what I was putting on and made my way to the shop. A bell dinged when I entered and a young man looked up from his book, he didn't look a day older then about twenty-three. "Hello! My name is John, I own this bookshop."
His green eyes looked over me for second before he said, "You must be here to meet Ava." He chuckled. "It's just like her to bring her first date here." I felt my cheeks color and I hoped it wasn't noticeable. "She's in the back of the shop." I nodded and walked through the aisles of books and found her sitting cross legged on the floor reading. "That must be a good book." She jumped and looked up at me. "Oh! Hi Alan. Yes, it's about King Arthur and his knights of the round table."
I sat next to her and watched as she talked about the book she was reading. Was it wrong that she looked so cute and beautiful? Her eyes sparkled and my eyes drifted down to her lips, they were a pale pink. Before I knew what I was doing I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers. She froze for a second or two but soon she was kissing me back and I loved every second of it. It wasn't like kisses that were written on script this was real; it was fairy tale real. There may be something there that wasn't there before....
