"Fight! Fight! Fight!" screeched a chorus of drunken, excited teenagers. I just wanted to sleep for once. But no. The door to my room screeched open and a beam of bright light laid across my eyes. My best friend Hilary burst in, "hey" she said annoyingly loudly, "there's a fight going on Kallie, aren't you coming to break it up?" I groaned and rolled out of bed.
Travis and Rick were fighting again. "hey! Some of us are trying to get some sleep, keep the noise down!" I screamed, Travis stood up, "sorry Kallie but you must have known squat life wouldn't be peaceful and safe and quiet like whatever hole in the ground you came from. He deserves everything he gets." He spat at rick and stormed of, barging past me as he went. Jack came up to me, "Don't listen to him, he's just in a bad mood" I raised an eyebrow, "Travis is always in a bad mood!" I replied. In the background I heard rick freaking out, saying "ewwww, he spat on my face!"
Next morning I was tired which was not good as I was about to go to the local school to see if I could join. I obviously had to change my name so I thought I would go for Anna as in my old town my best friend was called Anna.
I walked nervously through the schools glass doors, there was a reception desk in front of me and I coughed to get her attention. She was a right grumpy old cow. "What do you want?" she grumbled, "do you have any places at this school for me?" the lady typed something in her computer, I peered at the screen to see a dating website, she quickly turned the screen off, " we currently need a janitor, is that alright?" I shook my head, "I don't want a job here, I want to be a student here" the receptionist sighed "we are never going to get another janitor" she muttered. "Fill out this form" she said as she slid a form over to me.
First name, Anna, Second name, umm, Glassboro. Adress, Ahh here's a problem, I put the Adress next door. I filled out the rest and handed it back. Then I left, not feeling very hopeful.
On my way out, I saw a couple of students. Their uniform looked smart. All my clothes were worn out and faded.
I got back to the squat. Hilary ran up to greet me, "there's a new kid, she's going to sleep in franks old bed. In the room with us Jack, and Becca." I walked through the door and saw the new person sitting on the tattered sofa stroking the dog. "what's her name?" Hilary shrugged, "Angel I think" I sat casually down, "Hey, it's Angel, right?" She looked panicked suddenly although soon laughed, "I'm Angie, not Angel."
"Want something to eat?" I asked, "umm, yes what do you have?" not alot I thought to myself, "how about toast?" I asked, her eyes widened, "What's that?" I laughed, "it's bread. Cooked bread." Angie nodded, "OK, I'll have that."
Me and Jack were talking about Angie, Jack noticed she was a bit alien to the house, that she acted as if she had never lived in a house before.
That night, we found out why.
It was about one in the morning and an orange light was glowing round the door. I woke Jack and Hilary up and we went outside. Angie was talking to a creature. It was red and had horns it looked like abit like a boy but not enough to be human. It was the devil.
"What's going on?" Jack asked. Angie looked round. "I'll be back" said the devil before disappearing leaving only a red cloud of smoke and dust.
