The city shakes beneath my feet.

The buildings blaze with fire.

The sky turns black,

     with ash,

     with despair,

     and finally with hopelessness.

Rivers run red.

Glass rattles and shatters.

Mountains crumble under pressure.

Tidal waves crash against unsuspecting homes.

Animals flee, but not far enough.

People run, but not fast enough.

The ground cracks open to reveal lava.

Daemons rise from hell and attack.

Monsters beyond belief destroy.

Finally they arrive, but they aren't in gold.

They are dressed in black, all wearing grim expressions.

They charge forward, as if on a mission.

They help with the extermination of humans.

Why do they help?

Why do they not save us?

What has changed?

Why must this happen?

Gods, why do you forsake us?
