jinyoung.

park jinyoung.

park fucking jinyoung.

with that kind of look on his face displayed on her phone, it's somewhat sickening, actually. his sarcasm laced on every text on the groupchat she was forced in. his username which made zero sense at all; was he trying to act cute? was he trying to act cringy? what was he doing?

she shook off her thoughts as her friend texted her, wanting to meet up with the squad. of course she agreed, why would she say no to a friend?

they were friends, right?

thankfully, she was already dressed for this kind of event; a white tank top, a pastel pink jacket, and a beige polka dot miniskirt. with her coral purse and white slacks she exited the house quietly, since cherry and blossom were still asleep.

yes, she named her cats cherry and blossom.

no shame in this game.

the sight of her friends in the park was so refreshing to see other than the deadly glares of professors looking at every direction. other than that, the lovely 'subtle' breeze was also enjoyable, if it didn't make her skirt go up. thank God she wore pants underneath the skirt, no one knows how she would react if she didn't.

"look, the brat princess is here." one of them (if she remembered correctly, it was actually kaoru) said, crossing her arms. "and late."

sakura flipped her hair, "stop expecting that i'll be early, it's not easy being this perfect." she replied, rolling her eyes.

"y'all are digging too much into it. let the lovely gucci take her time," her best friend, shinhye, defended. sakura let out a heartfelt 'aw' and hugged shinhye's arm.

"you know me so well, shinnamon roll." sakura cooed, letting go of her arm. "now, let's hang out, and walk somewhere else. this kind of place is not exactly one that suits my type,"

and so, they all walked to a different place, one that was actually quite far. the sound of the wind going through the trees was so satisfying, so did the way the wind passed by the squad while making it look like the group of friends were in a really good hair commercial.

"harsh wind today..."

an unfamiliar voice commented. sakura knows she wasn't the only one who heard him, but she couldn't be bothered to actually search for who said it. regardless, the owner of the voice seemed far enough for her not to care and feel alright about it. sakura fixed her hair, and clothes, and began walking again while half-listening and half-ignoring seolhyun's drama.

"it's so boring here." jinhee replied, taking off her earphones only to try and pout cutely (and fail terribly). "but no really, let's play some music!"

"no one likes your shit songs, jinhee." kaori, the twin sister of kaoru, immediately shot down the suggestion. jinhee looked so sad after that, but that shouldn't fool you since she's probably playing a blcd right now while wearing earphones. girl's got guts if she manages to play one in public without earphones.

sakura DID kinda feel bad. she always did, always and only for jinhee. being one of the two people who never bullied her for anything, jinhee always like a walking trash can in the group. really, that poor girl got shit for everything it was she did. but for her reputation, sakura said nothing about it.

"look, let's order some coffee." xiaolei pointed at a coffee booth, which jinhee initially disagreed to but then gave in. she was never really much of a coffee person, or pretty much jinhee never really liked the same things as her squad. but she needed the squad, or else she'll have no one else.

apparently sakura was very deep in her thoughts because when she snapped out of it, the only one beside her was shinhye, carefully shaking sakura's body as the others' had already went to the booth, while jinhee had already gone home. "oh, thank goodness you snapped out of it! what were you thinking?" shinhye asked, sighing out of relief.

sakura shook her head. "nothing. now come on, gotta energise the body with coffee!" sakura skipped to the booth, holding shinhye's wrist. "have you heard candy store by that musical heathers? yeah, jinhee showed me that song and it pretty much describes me."

"except you don't do drugs, or anything illegal."

"yup." sakura agreed, getting in line with the rest of the squad. she was rummaging through her purse, searching for her wallet. when she couldn't find it. "oh no. oh no, oh no!"

"what? what happened?" shinhye asked, a worried expression masking her face. sakura muttered something incoherently, "huh? sorry, i didn't hear you."

sakura sighed. "i forgot my wallet." sakura repeated, slightly louder now. "i was sure it was in this bag, but apparently i was wrong." by now, she exited the line and sat on a sit with a table for 5.

"sorry sakura, if i brought enough money, i would've treated you." shinhye replied, patting sakura's back. sakura waved her hand reassuringly, gently getting shinhye's hand off her back. suddenly, sakura's phone vibrated to show the groupchat's text. more specifically, jackson's text, saying 'wHERE IS EVERYONE'. shinhye tried to take a peek, but before she could sakura already locked her phone.

if she exited the house at 11 am, she went back home at 5 pm. sakura was mentally tired of hearing what seolhyun had to say about every. single. thing. cherry woke up from her nap while blossom already licked sakura's hands as a 'welcome back mother' gesture.

"cherry, blossom, come here." sakura sat on the floor and patted on her lap. both the burmese kitties followed her order and sat on her lap. "lately, shinhye has been acting a bit weird. is it just me?"

by the sound of shinhye's name, blossom hissed while cherry softly licked sakura's hand. "i don't know what to do." suddenly, her phone vibrated to show another of jackson's text, 'wHY ISN'T ANYONE ANSWERING ME'.

sakura sighed, slowly laying down on the floor, her kittens got off her lap and instead laid next to her stomach. her phone vibrated once more, making sakura check her phone. as usual, another text from jackson, 'WHY ARE YOU ALL IGNORING ME', followws by a text from chunbao which said 'when will you ever shut up'.

"ugh, geez, the professor is nagging me again..."

sakura continued to lie down on the floor, wishing to know what was going on with shinhye and her. it always felt weird now, and she was curious to know why. she also wished she knew why that jerk jinold came back to her life again.

although, it was a good thing that he didn't come back as the senior bitch's boyfriend now.
