"Kaneki, does this mean I'll be living with you now?" I asked, my green eyes trained on the ceiling as I laid on the couch. My wounds had begun to heal, and I felt much better.
"I guess, only if you want to though." He said a little rushed, he put the book he was reading currently down. "You look a lot better." He smiled.
"Thanks to you and your friends!" I beamed happily. "So what you reading?" I asked excitedly.
"Well, while you were asleep, I went back to Aogiri and got your books and some of your other stuff..."
"Is it one of mine?" He nodded in response of my question. "Which one?" He picked it up and handed it to me. The Enemy by Charles Higson "Why this one?" I asked sheepishly, while this was one of my favorite books, it wasn't particularly popular or well known.
"I don't know, when I was waiting for you to make my coffee yesterday I just picked a book up and began to read it. It was this one, and it seemed really interesting." I nodded handing back the enchanting apocalyptic book.
"It's one of my absolute favorite books," I laughed awkwardly looking down at my lap.
"I love the black goat's egg, by Takatsuki Sen." Kaneki confessed to me. "I love the way she words her works, and how it reveals inner problems and concepts and perceiving the world in different ways."
"So true, her words are so alluring and beautiful, they paint the most beautiful stories." I agreed. "I'm sorry I cause so much trouble.." I whispered.
"Its fine, plus it was worth it, I really like you, you know." He said awkwardly.
"You're really awkward you know that?"
He blushed and stood up, "want another cup of coffee?" I nodded and stood up. He jumped when I stumbled a little.
"I know I seemed like I was on the verge of death and all, but it takes a lot more for me to kick the can." I giggled lightly. "Give me a piggy back!" I shouted childishly and hopped up onto his back.
"Gah! (Y/n)!" He screamed, trying to balance us. I fell off and landed on the couch. Even though Kaneki was well aware of my typical behaviour outside, he had no idea how I behaved in private. Without people, I act cold and standoff-ish but when I am with people I enjoy, I act silly, or in other terms, childish.
"Sorry," I whispered with a sheepish smile. "Do my actions displease you?" I asked with a blush.
"No, it's not that, it's just peculiar seeing this way. Actually, I find it really cute." He confessed. He stared at me for a moment.
"What?" I asked perplexed.
"Sunshine," he stated. "You remind me of summer sunshine, bright and beautiful and full of life." He paused, "but also hot and unforgivable, scorching all it dubs to be unfit of its gifts of life." I stared in admiration, nothing or moreless a person described me so perfectly. The only other thing people used to describe me was a rose. Hence my code name of the wild rose. Beauty in its working but if you don't proceed cautiously you get pricked by it's thorns.
"I want to be able to call you that. It seems fitting." He said touching his chin in discomfort of being so open. I leaned forward and kissed him.
"Ok, as long as I get to call you something." I whispered against his lips. "Darling~" he smiled at me after he pulled away. "I'm sorry for being such a bother. Is there anything I can do?" I asked. He pondered momentarily and shook his head.
"It's about time for me to train a bit so I guess you can do what you want for now. My rooms the one on the end if you want to wait there." He finished his sentence.
I looked down in slight disappointment. "Ok, I'll be in there." With a hefty sigh I wandered into his room awaiting his return.(Sorry for such a trashy filler chapter, I'll get to the more serious stuff hopefully next chapter.)
