Mack POV~

-

I rush into the bathroom feeling the vile rising in my throat. I hunch over the toilet in the nearest stall and empty the contents of this mornings breakfast. My head has the same pounding it does every time. My throat burns and I'm slowly coming out of my daze.

I crash to the floor and sit and stare at the wall for a few until I hear someone else come into the bathroom.

I flush the toilet and get a piece of toilet paper to extinguish the evidence. I wait to come out until I hear the other woman leave the restroom. I know I must look like I just got hit by a bus. Knowing the prissy people in this building they would start some shit about how I could be pregnant.

I get the tooth brush and mini toothpaste out of my bag and run the water over the brush.

I've learned to always keep one of these in my bag or at least mints. I splash water all over my face wiping off the concealer under my eyes that hid my dark circles. It was doing a pretty good job until I had a panic attack.

I look in the mirror and sigh at what a horrible sight I must be to the human eye.

I plaster on the fake smile most people have come to know and take a deep breath. I look down at my watch and curse because I'm almost an hour late.

The anxiety crashes in and I run out of the bathroom to the hall with the elevators.

I run into the hall and see an elevator door closing. I run and put my foot in between the door to stop it.

I apologize to the people in the elevator and make my way inside. It stops on my floor and I quickly exit before I cause another accident.

I walk into the busy office and make my way to the break room to get a cup of coffee before my body breaks down from my lack of sleep.

I am met with a smile from Barney also getting a cup of coffee to start his day.

"Oooh Mack, third day this week late eh?" he mocks me.

"Yeah I know Robert is going to kill me." I respond.

"Oh yeah about that we got a new floor manager." He says quickly, me barely catching what he said.

"Wait what? What happened to Robe- Mr. Connors" I stop mid sentence noticing I'm calling my boss by his first name. "He was perfectly fine for the job what changed the boards mind?"

"Apparently someone made a complaint about how lenient he was so the board assumed he was horrible at his job." I catch Barney rolling his eyes.

I roll my eyes along with him. "Some people just don't have anything better to do." I exclaim with annoyance.

"Alright I'm heading down you coming?" I ask.

"Actually I have to go pick up some thing from Ricky, he's lending me some ink for umm the printers downstairs." He says nervously after he scurries out.

"Ohhkayy that was weird. " I turn around and head towards the dark room in the basement of the building.

I open the door to the room I have come to know over my years of working at the company.

The thick musk invades my nostrils and I smile at the comforting smell. It may be a little bit suffocating down here since they crammed us in here like some dirty rats, but I find it ok. Apparently our work isn't as important, but truth be told everyone likes staring at pictures better than they do words. I guess we just didn't get a better dark room. I've seen the ones at other buildings and they are exquisite. But honestly it's better to work here even if it means we have to cram our stuff, it's worth it.
