Chapter 7: Blossoming Love part 1
The cold, crispness of winter has died off and the beauties of spring has blossomed. I walk to school in the cool spring morning. The cherry trees are in full in bloom. Ever since the winter, my powers have been on the fritz. I don't know why but for some reason every spring I feel renewed, fresh... healed in a way. I get to school early like usual and go to my lock. Like always, everybody stairs at me when I walk in and what not.
I open my locker and grab my books. I look in the mirror in my locker and look at my hair. I always notice around this time of year, my hair gets darker. Not brown or black darker, but a lovely honey blonde. I love how it looks. I back up a little to make sure my outfit still looks good after checking out my hair. Today I wore my favorite white and grey plaid shorts, light pink polo and a white cardigan sweater with white my Sonoma boat shoes. Before I left this morning, I grabbed my favorite charm necklace. It was of a red diamond in the shape of a rose and a silver mask. I bought this charm when I was in New York City, when I went to see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
I take out the small box with the necklace in that I had put in my bag this morning. Right as I take it out and admire it as I hold it up to my neck, someone comes up behind. I can feel the persons steamy breath on the back of my neck. I felt a tiny but uneasy but when the person put their arms around me, I knew it was Andy. I sigh and close my eyes. He kisses my neck so gently; it feels so... passionate. I open my eyes and turn my head to see his. He is looking back at me fondly. We both smile and kiss. Nobody was in the hallway so nobody saw this. We both let go and I turn my head back to the mirror.
"Let me help you put that on." He says cutely.
He takes the chain and puts it on around my neck. He secures the clasp and then puts his hands on my shoulders. He then looks into the mirror.
"Now you are complete." He chuckles then kisses my head. I smile.
I turn my head to face his handsome face and add, "Because I have you..."
The 1st bell rings as we stare into each others eyes. I close my locker and walk with Andy to his class. Since my first period is like a free period, I don't have to worry about being late. We get to his class but before we say goodbye to each other, he grabs both my hands.
"Eliot. We have been going for sometime now and..." He tries to say something.
"Yes?" I ask, hoping that what I'm thinking, he is going to say.
"Well... I guess what I am trying to ask is, would you go on a... a date with me?" He asks and blushes right afterwards.
I reply cutely, "I don't know. Will you show up?"
He smiles and replies, "Maybe, if you can convince me to."
We both chuckle and I kiss him on the cheek.
"I'm going to be in the library so you'll meet me there so we can walk to our next class together?" I ask before I leave.
He flips his hair a little and replies, "It's a surprise."
He goes into his classroom and I start to head to the library. When I get there, I sit in my new normal spot. Ever since that... incident, I never sat in the same spot. I now sit at on the 2nd floor, against a column that is in front of beautiful, floor to ceiling windows that over look the entire campus.
Ever since I met Andy, I have been interested in many different things besides romance. Yes I still read books of that genre but I now read all types, fiction, historical fiction, poetry, mystery, but NO horror! I am no that type of person. Today I am reading about the Titanic. I must admit, the history behind it is very interesting. One day, I have to watch the movie.
I sit there reading until a gloomy shadow is cast upon me. I tense up a little and look up slowly.
"Andy!" I playfully say loudly.
He smiles.
"You almost gave me a heart attack!" I say while starting to laugh.
"Well... At least of would have been here to save you." He says while dropping his bag on the floor.
He takes a seat next to me and leans his head on my shoulder.
"What ya readin?" He asks cutely.
"I don't know, read the top of the page." I say being a little bit sassy.
"Ok." We both laugh.
"Wait... Shouldn't you be in class?"
"Well, class ended early so I asked to come here since I knew you were here." He says softly into my ear.
I smile and blush. I place my head on his and continue reading until the bell rings.
The day goes quickly in the life of me. After school, I head home instead of staying after today. I guess I am to excited for the date tonight. I practically was begging him to tell me something but he didn't spill one tiny thing to me at lunch. He just said be ready by 5 and dress nicely. (Like I don't dress nice everyday. Hahaha.) I get home and feed Christine. I wright a note to Aaron saying I will be out late and for him note to worry. Also, asking him if he can take Christine for the night. Every now and then I see him playing with her so I know he'll do it.
Around 4:30, I go downstairs to wait for Andy. I changed my outfit to something more fitting for evening events but the one thing I keep is my necklace on. I go into the kitchen to get some water when I see my father at the table. I try to turn around and go back upstairs but it is too late.
"Aaron? I didn't know you where home already." He said cheerfully, still looking into the paper he was reading.
I don't reply, I try to tip-toe out of there but it fails.
"Aaron!" He looks up and sees me instead. His entire demeanor changes.
"Oh, it's you. Why are you down here?" He asks in a wicked, dark tone.
I gulp, "Um... I was just getting a drink of water." I say in a fearful voice.
His eyes wonder up and down my body.
"Where are you going?"
"Um... I was just going to head out around 5 with..." He interrupts me.
"With someone. How funny." He says this and starts laughing evilly.
"Ye...Yeah..." I say. I am starting to sweat.
"Fine. But be back here at 8 or your ass is grass!" He says.
He then gets up and walks away. That was the first time I have ever talked to my dad... And I have never felt so scared in my life.
