Another tiring and busy week went by yet again. Normally, she would be in her house either reading or sleeping, but she decided to do something different for a change. There she was, in the kitchen of the infamous band, which were apparently her best friends. Or, only friends if you didn't count her boss. How she was allowed to enter such an amazing place you wonder? Well, the boys had told Bang Pd, their manager, that she was there to help them celebrate their anniversary, and of course, they knew he wouldn't let her in with just that. I mean, she is a waitress, so she should know how to cook right?
The kitchen was filled with newly bought ingredients. Specifically ingredients to make Dakgalbi, diced chicken cooked with Gochujang - red pepper paste- and vegetables. Everyone in the kitchen was assigned a role by, as they call him, the cooking king, Jin. However, the maknae line as well as Hoseok were not allowed to cook anything. It wasn't as if they were extremely bad at cooking. The constant questions that were directed at Jin were more than he could take.
'Where do I put this?' "what do I do now?'
He could live without those questions.
Not to mention the many times he had to stop Taehyung from snacking on the food. That boy always had that bad habit. Much like (name)'s, it never really subsided. The others, instead of cooking, were left with the task to everything ready. Or to put it simply, clean up the mess they created earlier in the day. Slowly lifting her gaze off the grape flavoured cake that was slowly being taken out of the fridge, she placed it gently onto the table, covered with a piece of checkered cloth.
She then started to decorate it with swirls of chocolate and sweets. Now, she wasn't a bad artist if she could say so herself. The words "Congratulations", at least in her head, was never really fit for anniversaries. Anniversaries were days that would mark another year of doing something. Which was why she thought that those words should be changed.
When everything was ready and set on the table, (name) brought the cake in. She was barely able to contain her excitement. Wanting to show them the cake that she worked oh so hard on. Although, She expected a different reaction from what, in reality, was happening. The boys all let their gaze linger on the cake. Trying to diffuse the words that were neatly written upon it - she couldn't blame them.
"(Name)? Why does it say ' Good job, Namjoon, T, J, K, H, C &S' On it?"
Her fingers fidgeted with the hem of her shirt, a bit embarrassed about her writing. As she gave her explanation, Namjoon's head could not be anywhere close to where the rest were. His mind wonder to things that could have been. Why she wrote his name the biggest or even completed his name. Was he... special?
"There wasn't much space, you see. I only noticed it after writing Namjoon-oppa's name"
Ah, So that was it. Of course he wouldn't be someone who was special so soon. After all, they only met a few months ago. However, he couldn't help the budding feeling of uneasiness whenever he was with her. All the other members had already spent a day with her or, at least had a pleasant encounter with her. Namjoon and (name) never really conversed whereas the rest naturally done exactly that. Also, Due to his hectic work schedule, he rarely had time to spend, much like Suga. Don't get him wrong, all the members of Bangtan work extremely hard, which was proven a few chapters ago. But, because he wrote more songs for Bantan, he had less time to spare.
It could be foolish of him to think that he could squeeze a little time into his schedule for her. Might even be impossible. He wanted it though. Something that he never really experienced.
"Namjoon?"
Jin had been waving his hands in front of his face for over a minute now. Everything he tried to do had failed to bring their leader back to earth. It was like he travelled far into space. So far that their shouts and cries wouldn't reach him. And they thought Taehyung was the alien.
The cake was cut into slices and given out to all the members including (name). A mixture of purples and blues that coloured the inside of the cake could appeal to almost everyone. The mouth watering visual and the sensation of the moist cake in his mouth almost made him cry. If he dared, he would say she was better than Jin.
As everyone showered (name) with compliments, their gaze locked for a moment. One minute. And another. The others, still fawning over the heavenly taste of her cake, had not noticed the internal conversation that was happening between the two. Her eyes were a magical shade, almost impossible to dull. A sparkle in her eyes could tell others what she was feeling if her expressions failed to do so. (Name) slowly tore her gaze off of Namjoon, smiling back at the boys and thanking them for the compliments.
Yoongi, although he never really looked the type, he was a quite observant young man. Probably taken from spending to much time with the noisy group. He had been with them for so long that even the slightest things, from a small cry of wind to a single falling leaf, he could see. Like having a 360 camera inside his head. And that, that was how he saw everything that took place. He was quite a smart guy as well, judging by his lyrics, he had experience in many things.
Deciding to brush it off and leave it for next time, Yoongi turned his attention back to thee large group, not wanting to waste anymore energy on over-thinking.
It was the opposite for Namjoon however. Oh how he loved day dreaming. Thinking about what would happen if he did this or that. If he hadn't become an idol, what would he be doing? If he woke up to see (name) everyday what would he do?
He knew he was getting ahead of himself. But there was just no stopping it. After all, you never know where each path leads you until you take it. Call him selfish. But that was how he was towards her. As he went to join their conversation, he left the smile that made its way sub-consciously onto his face linger for awhile before disappearing into a small grin. Just the thought of having her close to the group could be amazing, and impossible.
But,
Even someone like him could dream a bit.
