Okay so some of you may know me from Instagram @justanotherdirectioner98 aha :) this fanfic is called Oblivion. It's a horror/love story filled with suspense and plot twists.. And I hope you all enjoy it!!! I will try to update at least once a day if not more. But thank you for taking the time to read it and enjoy!!!!!
The bright light shines at my face while a man sits across from me. I can't quite make out his figure because of how bright the light is, but next to him sits a steaming cup of coffee and two donuts, one sprinkled, and the other Chocolate. The walls and table are a bland gray, with nothing on them, just plain. I have the worst headache. My head still spinning from everything that just happened. What have I done? Why am I here? How did I get here? Why can't I remember anything? There are so many questions I want to ask but my throat feels dry, My mind blank, and my body limp. I just want to sleep. I just want to be at home with my friends and family again. My body shivers at the word "Friends". I just want answers.
"Lexi, can you tell me what happened that morning?" The man says, waking me from my thoughts.
...
I woke up In a rush that morning. I got dressed in a hurry, grabbed the keys and made my way towards the door, but then out of the corner of my eye I caught a shiny object gleaming back at me. It was a key chain from Massachusetts. The picture on it portrayed a cabin like house with nothing else but nature surrounding it. What a peaceful place I thought to myself. Oh how I wished to be somewhere like that. Where no one can boss you around day and night, where you're just on your own, with nothing but the trees staring back at you... Or so I thought.
My day started out like any other. Late. I'm always running late to work and traffic doesn't make it any better. The traffic was especially nauseating on that day. Cars and heat exhaustion all around you, trapped in what seemed to be a never ending red light. Work was only about ten or fifteen minutes away but it took me three times as long to get there.
My boss would always get on me for being late and I hated him to be honest but he is my boss and if I wanted to keep my job I better listen to him. The only real highlight of my days are when I get to see Luke. Well id like to think of him as a boyfriend, but I guess you can say its complicated. I wish it wasn't though.
Luke works in producing and I work with the musicians one on one. We are co workers so it will be kind of awkward if we... Break up, which I really hope won't happen anytime soon. My feelings for Luke have been developing like wild fire. I might be in love with him. I know I am in love with him. The fact is I don't know if he feels the same and I'm afraid for what lies ahead when the time comes.
I finally arrive at work literally a minute before I'm supposed to be there. I got out of my car running as fast as I could, I could feel the papers in my hand about to slip. I make it to the door in time with ten seconds to spare. And then all my papers fall out of my hand and onto the ground. I grunt and pick them up before my eyes meet with Mr.Gent. What an ironic name Mr.Gent is because he is far from ever being a gentleman.
"Lexi! I've been looking for you." He says.
Before I get the chance to speak he interrupts me, "I want you to know that I'm sending you to Monroe, Massachusetts. It's a fairly small town, but never mind that. Anyways I'm sending you there because you are to meet with one of our newest clients, her name is Angelee. She's said to be the next 'Taylor Swift'. So you and Luke are going to go there to see If she has what it takes to be a music star." He says while emphasizing the word "star".
"Uh yeah that sounds great thank you sir." I tried to sound like I was not excited but to be honest I haven't had a so called "vacation" in all the years that I've worked here. And the fact that I'm spending it with Luke makes it even ten times better.
"Okay then pack your bags the plane leaves in two days." As he walks away he turns around and says," oh and don't be late or you'll be fired for good this time."
"I'll make sure to take note on that sir, thank you." Oh how he irritates me. I walk towards the sound booth and see a familiar face. Louis Tomlinson. Louis is one of our kind of new clients, but he has already made five #1 singles since he's been here, that means that we must be doing something right.
"Hey Lexi." he says when he sees me.
Louis is an incredibly attractive guy, I must say, but he's dating one of my friends Nattie. They make a cute couple. They're really good for each other.
"Hey Louis! How's it going? I heard you singing and its amazing so far! Keep it up!" I flash a smile in his direction. He returns it.
"Eh good I guess!" He laughs.
Louis and I talk for a few more minutes until Luke walks in. He doesn't look to happy and when he's not happy he's usually angry. And when he's angry... I shutter at the thought. I cannot go back to that night. I snap out of it and walk up to him to kiss him on the cheek.
"Hey. Have you heard?"
"About going to some small ass town in Massachusetts... Yeah I heard."
I thought he would be somewhat excited. I guess not.
"Oh.... Well it doesn't sound that fun anyways." I lied.
"Wait. You actually wanted to go?!" He laughed. His face then goes back to how it usually does... Happy. "Well I mean I guess since we're going together it will be somewhat fun." He smiled and kissed me on the tip of my nose.
His presence makes me feel warm. But I don't know if he feels the same way. I just wish he wasn't so hard to talk to sometimes.
