I smoothed out the body hugging dress. It was pretty, for sure, but it didn't feel right. I hugged my bouquet closer.
I can't.
I took a deep breath.
I can't.
I took my first steps, with my father in my arm. He had always approved of Luke, which was weird. My dad never liked any of my boyfriends. I met with Luke in front of the priest. He smiled at me. That how I knew it was wrong. I couldn't. I threw my flowers down, and ran as fast as my shoes would take me.TIME LASPE
I stopped at an old bar, Half Bloods, and smiled. This place seemed cozy and warm. I stepped inside, getting some stares, but ignored them and walked up to the bar.
"I'll have a vodka martini, please."
The bartender nodded. A voice piped up from my right side.
"That's quite a drink for a woman in a wedding dress."
I turned my head. "Well, I need to try to forget these last couple of hours."
"I know how it is." I looked right into the guys eyes. They were a sea-green, like the ocean, and the color changed form green to blue like waves. He had raven black hair, and it was messed up, like it had never been brushed. He was wearing a loose suit, and the tie was dangling off of him.
He stuck out a hand.
"Percy Jackson."
"Annabeth Chase." I replied, and shook his hand.
"So, what's with the dress? If you don't mind me asking."
"I do mind, actually. What with the loose suit?"
"I mind as well." Then, in the stupidness of the situation, we laughed.
"Next topic. What are you drinking? Smells like...mmm....drunkenness, and I need it." He laughed. He waved over the bartender. "Two coconut tequilas, please." I smiled, and took a sip of the drink. And immediately gagged. "My god, what is that?!? That's just straight booze!" I exclaimed.
He laughed. "Yeah, not really my drink, either. Just trying to forget." I nodded.
"Annabeth, you seem like a trustworthy person, am I right?"
I smiled and nodded yes.
"Well, I have somewhere to take you."
I hesitated.But I liked this guy already.
"Sign me up."
