Chapter 1: Job Hunt

Well shit. Nothing seemed to go your way after graduation, which could be proven with a glance at your savings. You had thought that once you graduated you could find some work editing for a big company like Warner Bros, but it seemed they were picky in the abilities of their employees. And with expectations like that a greenhorn like you certainly wouldn't cut it. You were disappointed to say the least that you couldn't start right off the bat doing what you loved, but you weren't going to let a little job rejection undermine the time and money it took to get your master's in editing.

So, with bills to pay and a cat to feed, you set out to find whatever work you could. Marking doable jobs in red ink and desirable ones in blue, you then narrowed them down according to pay and hours. Eventually you landed on a restaurant a few miles from your apartment in need of an extra waiter. The pay would just cover your bills, but you were never one to spend frivolously. And so, with weekly budgets in mind, you called the establishment and set an appointment for an interview.
