Chapter 3: With you.

After class at the academy, you grabbed Naruto's hand and bolted out of there. You could almost see that Iruka-sensei was tight on your heels but, with a few sharp turns you lost him. You looked at Naruto beside you and he already had a paint bucket in his hand. Your eye's narrowed before you took it out of his hand before he could make it out of the alley.

"Hey!" He exclaimed reaching for the paint bucket once more but you linked your fingers with his own before he could get to it making him pause.

You giggled before you began making your way out of the alleyway looking both ways and up for Iruka "Your already in enough trouble as it is, Naru-kun" you said before you exited the alley with Naruto blending in with a group of people.

"But, I like my pranks" Naruto whimpered as he went with you then he smirked widely looking at you "And you like them too. I can see it in your eye's" he said his grin wide and his eye's narrowed.

You giggle at his antics "Of course I like your pranks the best part is always the reactions" you laughed remembering Hokage's reacting to Naruto spray painting his building.

Naruto smiled proudly at your laughter before he looked ahead and his and your smiles subsided. Ahead there was a group of men and women conversing with one another glancing at the both of you almost every second.

He glared at them before his grip on your hand went tighter and he pulled you along with him "Look at them. They shouldn't be allowed to be with one another, let alone in the village" you heard one of the women, a mother of two, whisper to her companion.

"They would be stronger together then apart, I can't believe the hokage allows this" the woman said as well looking at you as you turned towards one of them as Naruto angrily pulled you along.

You looked away as the crowd began to grow larger, it's been like this ever since you both were younger. You didn't understand why they hated you or Naruto, you were just kids what could you have possibly done?

You frowned as you thought it over racking your brain for all the actuation you've done throughout your life.

Naruto turned towards you as he stopped in his tracks and you paused as he did but, you didn't meet his eye's "Don't listen to them! They're just a bunch of old teme's! Just like Sasuke!" Naruto said looking at you and his expression softened before you looked up smiling at him.

But, then your smile faded "But...what if they actually separate us? What if they'll never get over their weird feelings for us?" You asked him afraid to look him in the eye. Naruto was proud and he hardly ever showed what he was truly thinking, where his heartache truly lies or if he feels put down. And yet here you were spouting what must sound like nonsense to him.

And it probably was.

"They're gonna regret they ever laughed at us! When I become hokage they're gonna have to respect us!" Naruto yelled before he put his hands on your shoulder's looking you in the eye. He was slightly taller then you and you blushed a little as he closed in leaving hardly any breathing room "(y/n)-Chan... I want you to be by my side when I become hokage! You'll be with me won't you?" He asked you.

You smiled at him before shoving him playfully "Where did you think I would be, baka? I'll be by your side no matter what" you said to him before he grinned at you.

You giggled before wrapping your arm's around his neck "I'll be by your side if you'll be by mine" you said and Naruto smiled softly "I'll never stray from you. I'll protect you no matter what" he whispered his arm's wrapping around you our waist.

You then pulled away to kiss his cheek quickly before giggling "Now come on!" You say pulling on his hand as he froze over a small smile on his face as his face went hot.

He let you drag him all the way to Ichiraku's a goofy smile plastered onto his face "(y/n)! N...Naruto?" Teuchi began but paused as Naruto just stared at you dazed making you giggle your face at little red.

Teuchi seemed to get the picture and nodded mostly to himself before he said "Miso Ramen coming up" he said and you smiled at him before turning back to Naruto who was still staring.

"Naru-Kun?" You asked him waving a hand in front of his face concerned.

Naruto snapped out of it in an instant his hand going up quickly "Oi old man! How's it going?!" He yelled almost panicked and sweating. You looked at him oddly before you turned in your seat to face Teuchi as well, he was already beginning the process of cooking.

He shook his head before shrugging "The usual. Normal business. But, I haven't seen you two since...last night. What happened to the normal schedule for breakfast" Teuchi asked teasingly and you smiled.

Naruto huffed putting the palm of his left hand to his cheek before leaning on it "Iruka-sensei made us skip becuase he was chasing me down the street just becuase I painted the hokage's faces" he said and you chuckled and so did Teuchi.

"Oh yes. So I've heard. It's all over town already" Teuchi said and Naruto perked up "Really?!" He asked in excitement a huge grin on his face.

You giggled as Naruto nearly leaps from his seat in excitement his goggles slipping from his forehead ro cover his eye's like before.

After a few moments, Teuchi-Sama brings the Miso Ramen in two steaming bowls. You smile at Teuchi before you grab your chopsticks along with Naruto.

You turn towards Naruto surprised at how fast he digs into his meal and you giggle once more making Naruto pause "What?" He asked his mouth filled with ramen noodles. You shake your head "Nothing. Nothing at all" you say to him before he shrugs and continues slurping up the Noodles in huge gulps. He's done within seconds already asking for his second bowl.

You and Naruto spend most of the day at Ichiraku's before you both split the amount and pay Teuchi for the meal. You leap down from the chair before you and Naruto set off to get home.

"Ready for the exams tomorrow Naru-kun?" You asked him and Naruto looked at you wide eyed and you pause as he begins to panic.

"Its tomorrow?" He shouted running his hands through his wild hair.

You nodded before you shook your head and you then took his hand before rolling up his sleeve. He paused at your touch before he looked down to see you were pressing your index finger gently into his upper wrist.

Slowly, the symbols for the Clone jutsu are inscribed into his arm and he gaps at it in wonder "Sugoi. When did you learn to do that?" He asked you his eye's fascinated as he looked down at the symbols.

"I've only just perfected it. I've never actually used it thou. Those are the moves for the Clone Jutsu Technique. Study them ok?" You said to him sternly before you smiled at him.

"And don't worry it washes out" you added and you frowned slightly seeing Naruto fidget slightly looking down at the symbols.

Naruto looked slightly worried "Come on Naru. You'll do great. Just don't freak out" you said to him with a smile grabbing his hand and giving a slight squeeze before you let him go.

"I've gotta head home now Naru-kun. Don't cause any trouble ok? You said to him before shrugging "Well at least tell me first" you finished.

Naruto chuckled before grinning at you "No promises".

You rolled your eye's aft him playfully before glomping him in a hug and pulling back just as fast making your way the opposite path go your apartment "I'll see you in the morning!" You stated and Naruto nodded absent-mindedly his hand up waving goodbye.

His smile vanished as he saw you round the corner towards your home, his joy felt like it had left him completely as you left his line of sight. His head drooped sadly before he looked down at symbols once more a tiny smile making its way onto his lips before he took off towards his own home.
