"Is he okay?" asks the taxi driver, "He looks like he's in pretty bad shape, are you sure you don't want to take him to a hospital instead?"

"We don't have time to get to a hospital," I say.

The driver sighs and shakes his head, continuing to drive.

I stare down at Kyle, whose head is leaning against my shoulder. He pants, his body shivering and shaking. He's still bleeding, too.

I won't make him talk. I'll take him home, clean him up, and let him get some rest.

___

When we get to the house, I realise that I don't have my keys.

"Kyle," I say, setting him down on the doorstep, "Do you have a hairpin?"

"It's open," he tells me, "When I got here earlier," he pauses to breathe, "It was locked but I picked it," he coughs and cringes, hugging himself, "I just closed it before I ran off."

I open the door and take him inside, and there I proceed to take care of him.

"It wasn't long ago that we were in this something like this same position, was it," I say, laughing. "We always end up like this. Me having to take care of you."

He doesn't say anything.

"I always end up feeling the satisfaction of the hero in the end, don't I," I say, joking with him.
There's an odd silence as I clean the blood off his face with a damp cloth. "Are you okay?" he asks me, after a while.

"Are you?" I answer.

"That's why I'm asking," he says.

"Thank you for trying to save me," I say. "But stop getting yourself into such shit, honestly, Davidson."

He scoffs. "Always so stubborn."

___

While Kyle is having a shower, I call Adrien. The play should be halfway done by now.

"Adrien," I say, "Where are you?"

"I'm at the play, where are you? Why are Ron and Olivia the leads instead of you and Kyle?"

"There was a situation. I'll explain later, Kyle's at my house right now. I was right about the inside eye."

"You were? It was Morgan?"

"It was. Is she at the play right now? She's supposed to be Beth, Valerie's be-"

"-Best friend," he finishes, "Yea. She's here. She hasn't done anything suspicious. She's been in the play doing her part like everything's normal."

"After the play, can you do me a favour?" I ask.

"What's that?"

"She's holding a grudge against me because she wanted to be the lead... She said something to me about Olivia being harmless, so I need you to keep an eye on Ron and Olivia afterwards just in case Morgan tries to hurt her. I don't know what she's going to do. She might give her something to eat or drink or try to get her injured or injure her or something. Just stay close to them? Ron might have a hard time with your presence but just stay close. I can't be there tonight. I really can't."

"No problem, the fifteen minute break is over, I'll tell you what happens later, too."

"Thank you," I say."Bye. Enjoy the play."
