FOURTEEN: "Pick me up!" ✍️
With each blow Zack threw, he appeared more and more intent and furious. He seemed really enraged, and he viciously desired to take out his frustrations on his punching bag.
"What's wrong?" asked the man who was coaching me when he noticed I stopped punching.
I immediately went back to my senses and shook my head. "Ah, nothing."
"Come on. Punch more." he encouraged me to give another.
I tried to remove Zack from my mind to focus more on what I was currently doing.
I am even ignoring his sharp, intense eyes directly pointed at me though they make my heart go crazy as usual.
"You don't look familiar. You've never been here since before?" asked the coach.
To distract my attention from Zack's dark aura, I gave more of my attention to the man who was coaching me for the right punches.
"Uhm, yes. Exactly. It was actually my first time to be here."
I couldn't help but stare at him. He looked handsome, muscled, and nice. I guess his age ranges from twenty-eight to twenty-nine. I'm not just so sure.
"What's your name?"
"Irryn."
"What a beautiful name for such a pretty face. Anyway, I'm Behnam."
I responded to him with a smile.
He smiled boyishly. "Nice meeting you, Irryn."
"Nice meeting you, too."
"I'm one of the coaches here for almost a year already. You want me to be your coach from this day forward?"
"Uhm, no. I mean, I'm fine, and I don't really need a coach."
"Ouch. So, I got rejected immediately..." He pouted boyishly.
I shook my head. "It's not like that. Please don't take it that way or as a rejection. What I meant to say was that I don't really need a coach 'cause I don't think I can still go back here tomorrow or the next mornings."
I might not be allowed to return if Zack decides to stop letting me the following day. In addition, I don't have enough money to hire a fitness instructor, and thirdly, I'm already skinny; I couldn't get any skinnier, could I?
"But why, Irryn?"
"Sis Irryn!"
I silently thanked when Rhian finally called me to come to me, and I felt like I was rescued from a getting-awkward conversation.
My sister, who was standing on the ring's border, caught my attention, and I paused what I was doing to look at her.
"Rhian!" I responded to her.
"Let's try the stationary bicycles and the treadmill. I'm sure you will like it there."
"Yes, Rhi. Coming."
I removed the boxing gloves from both of my hands and thanked Behnam, "My sister is here now. Thank you so much for your coaching, Behnam."
He smiled and nodded.
As my sister walked to other areas of this fitness center, I proceeded to join her.
Bikes that don't move around? Treadmills? I'm intrigued, could you please explain what those are? My memory tells me that mountain bikes and stationary bicycles are quite comparable, with the primary difference being that the latter is freestanding while the former is a piece of machinery. The only piece of apparatus to which I am completely oblivious with regard to both its operation and its appearance is a treadmill.
"Over here, sis!" She coaxed me in the direction of the exercise bikes that were motionless.
I excitedly nodded. We each take turns riding the bikes and pedaling the bicycles.
Wow! It's actually my first time riding such a costly piece of equipment, and I couldn't be more excited! Amazing!
Following our time spent on the stationary cycles, we proceeded to the treadmills next.
Now I fully comprehend the purpose of these machines that are referred to as treadmills. Describe their outward look as well as their purpose. It is a device in the shape of a rectangle used for walking or running in place.
Rhian completed the challenge on her treadmill, and I completed mine on the other treadmill in the room.
"I take that you're talking about a treadmill, then? Only recently did I become aware that I had witnessed something very much like this either on television or in a movie made in Hollywood. It still doesn't seem real to me that I'm actually standing on one right now minute "I couldn't contain my excitement as I yelled this to my sister.
"On tv? Why? Don't tell me it's your first ever time?"
I giggled. "Actually, yes."
She nodded and continued her doing.
Moments later, she excused herself to the bathroom, "Gonna go to the bathroom for a while, sis. Stay here, okay? I'll go back immediately."
I nodded at her. "Sure, Rhian. I'll wait for you here."
My insatiable appetite for knowledge kept me going, and as a result, I kept continuing on the treadmill. I used each and every one of the buttons to input their respective numbers. I inadvertently pressed the speed controls, and as a result, the apparatus abruptly raced to such high rates that I was compelled to run, and I eventually fell to the freezing ground.
"Ouch!" I was in so much discomfort that I almost shed a tear.
As I was falling, I protected my head with my elbow in order to prevent it from making contact with the ground. On the other hand, I did wind up getting some bruises on my elbows.
"What in the world?! Hahaha!"
After my accident, I was completely unbothered by the spectators who had been laughing at me. My primary concern is the humiliation that would result from my acting like an idiot in front of so many people.
The h*ck, Irryn! So careless of you!
"Such a clumsy weak girl! Haha!"
Despite the pain, I forced myself to stand. Upon my intention to stand, a dashing gentleman smiled and extended his hand to me.
It was only then that I recognized it was Behnam. His smile was genuine and kind, and it somehow warmed me up after all the embarrassment I had today.
At least he's not like everyone else and he's not trying to make fun of me.
I was about to accept Behnam's friendly hand when, without a word, Zack stepped into the picture to pick me up.
