CHAPTER 15

FIFTEEN: "At least, he cared for me today!"  ✍️

When he carried me with his bare, chiseled arms, his expression was completely devoid of emotion.

"Zack..." I was shocked and couldn't almost believe it.

I hesitated and considered refusing to let him carry me, but his body language insisted, and since I didn't feel like making another embarrassing scene, I gave in.

His customary gloomy demeanor returns, as does the serious mystery written all over his face.

The crowd fell silent as the owner of this gym carried me in his arms. I'm so embarrassed and feel like I've done nothing useful in this gym since I stepped foot here...

He carried me to his office, which was the last thing I expected. Specifically, inside of it. When he put me on a couch meant for one, he let go and freed me, and then he went through the drawer of his table to find something there.

"Zack, sorry. It's never my intention to cause a scene in your gym. I'm really sorry."

He didn't say anything more and kept his serious expression on. Back here beside me, he came, already holding a first aid kit in his hand. Once again, I was taken aback when he suddenly bent down in front of me to begin treating the bruises on my elbow.

"Zack, you don't really have to do this—"

He didn't listen to me, and when he put bandages on my wounds, I was cut off from my words.

"Next time, if you want to cause trouble, make sure you don't do it here," he remarked as he returned to his table to return his medical kit.

"Zack, sorry..."

"Leave now, little girl."

"Zack—"

There was something about the way his dark eyes flicked over me that was melting me.

"Leave."

I nodded and headed towards the glass door, but once I was through, I turned around to give him another glance.

"Please accept my apologies for making trouble in your gym, and also please accept my gratitude, Zack. Thank you for being there." These were the final words I spoke to him before leaving, and I felt very glad as I left the door.

He cared... Something about what he did for me today gave me that impression. He medicated me, and then, he carried me in his arms and never laughed at me the way other people mocked at my stupidity. It was basic, but my heart really appreciated it.

Despite the several instances today in that I created difficulties and embarrassment for others, I found reason to be pleased and appreciative. Deep down, I was brimming with joy and gratitude.

"Sis Irryn? What happened? What happened to your elbow? Why do you have bondage there?" Rhian immediately asked when she noticed the bondage.

Couldn't help but smile like an idiot. "Uhm, nothing, Rhi. It's just nothing. Nothing to worry about. I'm all fine." Thanks to your big bro...

At least, he cared for me today, and that's all that matters!
