"GOOD MORNING AND WELCOME BACK TO HOGWARTS!" Headmaster McGonagall welcomed. Ever since Dumbledore died, McGonagall took over the role as headmistress of Hogwarts.

Clap's came from everywhere, even from my table. Happiness danced across the hall, the joy of both the students and the teachers. They're all acting carefree, knowing that no danger lies ahead.

And it also seems that an extended holiday after the battle was much needed because nobody showed a sign of unhappiness, sadness. Everyone was cheering, clapping, whistling anything you could think of that showed a sign of happiness.

I was sitting at the end of the Gryffindor table, missing my group already. I looked towards them and saw that they were also sitting at the edge, looking at me. I pouted, 'Miss you already.' I mouthed. Pansy saw and replied to me: 'Miss you too.'

I brought my finger to my eye and brought it down my face, like a tear. She laughed silently and repeated my action, a small smile tugging on her lips.

"Draco Malfoy," McGonagall said. I raised a questioning eyebrow as I saw him walk to the wooden stool. I glanced to Pansy and saw her looking back at me as if sensing me looking at her.

'What's happening?'

'Sorting Hat.' She mouthed. I nodded. It seems we're being re-sorted.

"SLYTHERIN!" The hat yelled. He smirked at us and sat back down at the Slytherin table. He winked at me, and I blew him a kiss.

"Blaise Zabini." She called yet again. He stood up and went over to the front. He sat on the stool, and the hat was placed on his head.

"SLYTHERIN!" It yelled. He stood up with a smirk, just like Draco, and winked at his best friends in the back. Draco cheered for him and ended up doing a handshake they created when they were very young. I rolled my eyes. Boys.

"Pansy Parkinson." I gave her a thumbs up. She laughed and sat on the stool. The hat was placed on her head. It was murmuring until he yelled;

"SLYTHERIN!"

I clapped and whistled as well. She looked at me and blew me a kiss as I winked at her. I heard a low growl coming from Draco. I laughed and blew him a kiss again. We locked eyes, and I don't know how long we were staring at each other because before I knew it, my name was called.

"Katherine Weasley." She called out. The hall turned silent as I stood up. I understand why, though. No one heard of me since after the war - ever since Fred and Tonks died. I kept my face emotionless as I walked towards the front; confidence reeking off of me. I sat on the stool and felt the light weight of the hat on my head.

'Hmmm. A tricky one.'

His voice was loud as if he purposely wanted everyone to know where I was going to end up. I bit the inside of my cheek as my eyes scanned the hall. I saw some many familiar people.

I locked eyes with Ginny. She gave me a thumbs up and patted the seat next to her. Both Ron and she were re-sorted into Gryffindor as well as the others. So far, only a few changed houses. First years to sixth years were all re-sorted, now there is only Blaise to be re-sorted, after me that is.

'You're very loyal,' the people that sat at the Hufflepuff table smiled at the thought of me joining them. "BUT Hufflepuff will only lead you to a life of boredom, and you don't want that.' It spoke with authority and wisdom, pulling my head around to face the different tables.

'You're adventurous yet Intelligent. Your brain is mature and understands the concept of everything."'Just like the Hufflepuff's, the Ravenclaws reacted the same way, smiling widely. "BUT Ravenclaw will lead you to another boring and smart life. You would do well in either one of them, but that is not your style."

"Go figure," I muttered under my breath only for the hat to pull my head harshly to the side.

"You could be the kindest most loyal person out there, or you could be the smartest person out there. Your brain agrees. But that is not where your heart lies." It showed me images deep inside of my brain. Memories. 'Your bravery and cunningness overthrow the others. You can reach your full potential with either your family beside you...' I looked over to Ron and Ginny and saw them smiling at me. 'Or by the side of your friends and lover.' The hat said. I looked towards them; they were smiling at me, their eyes expressing how they really felt.

They don't care, I realised. They don't care whether I may be in Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or even with their enemy's, Gryffindor, nothing can break the bond we formed. 'Hmm. What to chose?' He hummed before looking at me. 'I don't normally do this, but where do you want to go?'

Everyone in the hall was silent. Never had the sorting hat ever asked a student which house they wanted to be in. It was something new. 'A house full of lions or a house full of snakes?' He questioned, loud enough for everyone to hear. I looked over the table where my family sat and saw that they were looking at me hopeful faces.

I then looked over to the table where my friends and love sat at it, only to see soft, caring smiles. I smiled back, staring straight in their eyes before whispering, loud enough so everyone could hear, my answer.

"A house full of snakes." The hat smiled before shouting out my new house.

"So be it! SLYTHERIN!"
