"Hey! Luke! I know we just got our pokémon, but wanna battle? You don't have to give me anything, I just wanna see who's better." Josh says, out of breath from running. "Uhh...yeah, sure, but mine's faster, so don't get bummed out if you lose." Luke says, acting brave, even though he knows he's gonna lose this fight. "Josh I'm just kidding, I already know I'm gonna lose." Luke says. Josh throws out his Articuno, as Luke throws out his Zapdos, both staring at each other. "Alright Luke! No holding back, alright?" Josh says smiling. Luke only smiles, as Josh uses Ice beam, Zapdos dodges the attack and Luke using Drill peck, Articuno is too slow, and Zapdos gets a critical hit on Articuno. "Nice one Luke, Articuno may not be fast, but if he can land a hit or more, you're done for." Josh says, although he knows he'll never land one until Articuno's speed is up. Josh uses Blizzard, and Zapdos barely dodges it and used Lightning bolt, it's another critical and Articuno faints. Luke won the battle as Josh ran to heal his pokémon.
