I paced around my room, biting my nails. Today was the day I was going to meet Kevin's (my boyfriend) parents and I don't think I could have been more nervous. What if they don't like me? What if they don't want me around him anymore? What if I accidentally say something wrong? What if I don't shake their hands properly?

I took a deep breath and looked in the mirror. I was wearing a red turtleneck with a brown suede skirt. I looked down at my watch.

12:07. Shoot I was meant to be at Kevins by 12:00pm. I ran out the door and walked quickly to his house. I walked up to his front door and knocked on it. The door opened and I was greeted by Kevin's smiling face.

"Hey y/n!" He said, hugging me.

"Hey, i'm so sorry i'm late." I apologised. He said it was alright and looked me up and down and smiled even wider.

"I have such a pretty girlfriend."

"Shut up." I said pushing him lightly. He smiled down at me.

"Here come in and meet everybody." He grabbed my hand and lead me inside. I walked in to be met with a blonde lady in the kitchen. She noticed me there and smiled.

"Kevin, is this y/n?" He nodded. "Hi, i'm Norma, Kevin's mom, it's so nice to meet you!" She said hugging me. I responded back saying that it was nice to meet her too and then a teenage boy came in. Kevin rolled his eyes.

"Ooooh well looks like butthead here finally got a girlfriend. The name's Wayne, don't bother introducing yourself because Butthead talks about you ALL the time. 'I sure do love y/n! Y/n's hair smelled SO good today, isn't she just perfect! Wow I love love love-"

"Wayne be polite and stop embarrassing your brother in front of her." Norma said sternly. Kevin's jaw was clenched from how mad he was at his older brother. I chuckled at Wayne's remarks and Kevin stormed into the other room, dragging me along with him. He slammed the door shut and lied down on his bed, head in his hands

"Ugh stupid Wayne! Can he not go one day without embarrassing me?" I sat down on the end of the bed and looked at him.

"Kev, it's okay all brothers do that. It's no big deal." I reassured him. He sat up and patted the spot next to him, indicating for me to go over. I did so and he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"I'm sorry if this wasn't how you pictured meeting my family would be like. I mean my whole family isn't even here, my sister's gone off to college and my dad's at work at the moment. I just wanted this to be perfect but it's no-" I interrupted him by kissing him passionately. My arms wrapped around his neck and his hands ran up and down my waist. We pulled away after about a minute.

"I love you and your brother embarrassing you isn't going to change that. But on a completely unrelated topic, how does my hair smell today?" I teased. He laughed and began poking at my sides, tickling me. I laughed and tried to push him away from me. He eventually stopped and wrapped me in his arms. I snuggled my head into the crook of his neck and we laid there calmly as if every problem had just faded away.

"Kevin, Y/n, lunch is ready!" Mrs Arnold called from the kitchen. Kevin groaned and pulled away. We slowly got off the bed and walked out of his bedroom to the kitchen.

"The food smells amazing, Mrs Arnold." I said as I walked to the table.

"Oh thank you! But you can just call me Norma." Kevin went wide eyed and I looked at him, confused. He leaned in and whispered.

"You're the only person she's allowed to call her Norma instead of Mrs Arnold." I looked at him in shock and covered my mouth.

"You're kidding." I whispered to him. A car was heard pulling into the driveway.

"Oh that's Jack!" Norma exclaimed. A few seconds later, a tall, dark-haired man walked in. Norma asked him how work was.

"Eh work is work." He muttered. He spotted me sitting next to Kevin and raised an eyebrow at him. "Kevin, would you mind introducing me to your friend here?"

"U-uh yeah! I mean no of course not! Um dad, this is Y/n, my girlfriend. Y/n this is Jack, my dad." Kevin stuttered. We shook hands and he smiled at me.

"It's very nice to meet you, Y/n." Jack said, sitting down at the dining table.

The next few hours were spent with them asking about my family and what I wanted to do when I was older, Norma showing me Kevin's baby photos, Kevin being embarrassed and me feeling extremely comfortable in the Arnold household.

I looked down at my watch and saw that it was almost 6:00pm. Yikes, I was meant to be home by 5:30pm.

"Oh, i'm really sorry but I have to go or else my mom will kill me." I said.

"Do you want me to walk you?" Kevin asked.

"Only if that's okay with you." I replied back. He nodded and we said our goodbyes to everyone in his family and left.

"I bet my mom would adopt you if she could." He laughed and grabbed my hand. "They really like you, Y/n."

"I'm glad because I really like them too." I replied. We stopped walking and looked at each other. He brushed some hair away from my face and smiled. "What?"

"How did I get so lucky to call you mine?" He asked. My heart skipped a beat.

"I ask myself that everyday." I replied, leaning closer in. Our lips moved perfectly in sync. I had my arms around his neck whereas he had his arms gently on my waist. We pulled away and stared at each other in admiration. "I love you, Kevin."

"I love you so much more." He hugged me tightly. I said goodbye and walked across the road to my house.

"I'm home!" I yelled as I walked inside. I explained to my mother why I was late and made my way up to my room. I jumped onto my bed and looked at the ceiling.

What a day.

Ehhh this one isn't that good and seems kinda rushed but I hope you liked it!!
