Andrellas POV

"Bye Andrella!" My best friend yelled, walking away. I turned to her and chuckled. I turned back around to be met with somebody bumping into me, making me fall on the ground.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry. Here let me help you up," A voice I recognised said apologetically. Well, well, well if it isn't the one and only Kevin Arnold. He extended his hand and i grabbed it, helping me to get off the ground.

"It's okay it was my fault, I wasn't watching where I was going," I said smiling. He smiled back and walked away. I've known Kevin for years know but he's never once acknowledged me. I sighed and walked towards my locker.

"Andrella!" I turned around to see Mrs Brown running towards me. "So as you may know, I'm getting married in a few days and my husband and i will be on our honeymoon for a week or so and since you are one of the best guitar students in the school, I was thinking that you could take over one of my private lessons that I have with a student," I contemplated it in my head, wondering if I should do it or not.

"I don't know, Mrs Brown. I've never taught anyone before," I replied, hesitant on the idea.

"Please, Andrella. It's great experience and you can make really good friends out of this!"

"Alright, why not?" I eventually gave in.

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! The details are in my office so come after next period and we'll discuss it further. Bye Andrella!" She walked away and I got my books out of my locker and walked to my next class. Maths.

(skipping the boring maths details bc yadayadayada)

I left class and then proceeded to go to Mrs Brown's office to get the details about the guitar lessons. I knocked on her office door and entered.

"Andrella! Do come in, dear. I'm assuming you're here for the details about the guitar lessons," she said, trying to find the timetable under her many pages of paper scattered around her desk. Many curse words muttered under her breath later, she finally found it and handed it over to me. I scanned the names of the very few people I had to tutor. Cheryl Adams, Henry Anderson, Kevin Arnold, Jeanie Heaton, Kath- Wait a minute, Kevin Arnold? As in the Kevin Arnold that i've admired since 3rd grade?

"Uh, so when do I start?" I asked, looking up from the timetable. "Tomorrow if that's suits you, I believe Kevin Arnold is your first student since he normally has his lessons thursday afternoons. Do you know him? I believe he's in your grade," I bit my lip to hide the upcoming smile. "I've heard of him."
"Great! So today is my last day since there are still arrangements to be made with the wedding so I guess i'll see you later, Andrella. Oh and please try and make friends from this, it would mean the world to me," She told me, packing up her things. I nodded, said goodbye to her and then made my way home.

Gee, in 24 hours i would be teaching Kevin to play the guitar. I pushed away the negative thoughts which were mainly 'what if' questions revolving around me messing up and stumbling on my words in front of him and instead focused on what i would need to teach him. i can't let this boy continue to be the death of me.

thursday afternoon

I walked to the music classroom, nervously. This was the first of Mrs Brown's lessons that I had taken over and i couldn't have been more unprepared.

Breathe, Andrella. Breathe.

I placed my hand on the doorknob and opened it slowly to see if anyone was inside. Nobody was so i walked in and placed my guitar case down on the chair next to me. Just as i was about to check the time, i heard a knock on the door. I turned my head in the direction of the knock and saw him. He looked confused to say the least.

"Uh, hi? Where's Mrs Brown?" Kevin asked.

"She didn't tell you? Oh, well she's getting married and so she's taking two weeks off and she left me in charge of the private guitar lessons. I'm Andrella by the way." I extended my arm out and he shook it. He smiled at me.

"Yeah, i've seen you around for a while now. You live in the neighbourhood?"

"Yeah, did we go to the same elementary school?" I knew damn well that we did but i couldn't come off as creepy so i acted as if i haven't liked him for many years.

"Yeah! We were in Mr Walker's grade three class, right?" We started to talk about how Mr Walker was the wackiest third grade teacher in all of america for what seemed like forever even though it was probably only five minutes. We then began focusing on the guitar lessons rather than teachers who envied us.

"Okay, so it's G, D, B minor, no you gotta put your index finger on the very bottom string, there you almost got it. Press harder on the strings," He hung his head back and groaned, obviously fed up with not getting it right numerous times. "Hey it's alright, you're almost there."

"This is so boring and I can't even get it right," I stared over at him and slouched into my seat. "I got an idea, let's finish the lesson early and go out for ice cream or something," He suggested, smiling from ear to ear.

"Kevin Arnold, are you asking me out on a date?"

"Maybe I am."

"Well i guess it can wait because you have a guitar lesson that you need to fully attend to," He looked at me with a pleading look.

"Andrella, please? It's not like anyone will care and how will I get to know you if all we do is sit in this dodgy music room for an hour? Come on, let's have fun."

"Fine but only this once!"

"Yes!" He hurried to put his guitar back in it's case. He grabbed my hand and we ran out of the music room to the local ice cream shop. "Flavour?"

"Cookies & Cream."

"Nice choice," He ordered the ice creams and paid for them.

"You know i'm not letting you pay for me, right?" I told him, getting money out from my pocket.

"You know i'm the one who insisted we leave the lesson, right?" He told me, mocking me. I rolled my eyes and shoved the money back in my pocket. We sat down near the water fountain in the middle of the courtyard and ate our ice creams.

"So Kevin, what's made you want to take guitar lessons?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Honestly? It's because i've seen you around and you really interest me. The way you always look so peaceful when you play and how you seem to not give a damn about anything around you. You're talented, Andrella," I was so incredibly shocked by what he had just said to me. I mean, me? The girl who hasn't talked to him since third grade. Before I could say anything he softly placed his hand on the back of my neck and looked deep into my eyes. We leaned in.

Closer, closer, closer.

Our lips touched and it was like a prayer come true.

Seven years, I have dreamt about this very moment and finally after being as patient as can be, my dream came true.

We pulled away and blushed a deep red.

"I'm sorry that i did that, i don't even know if you feel the same way about me," I laughed slightly at the idea of me not liking him.

"Of course i like you, be mine?" I asked him (frick yeah, breaking mild gender stereotypes amiright??) . He smiled widely at me and nodded quickly.

Two Weeks Later

"Andrella! I understand you are currently in a relationship with one of my students? Kevin Arnold?" Mrs Brown asked. I gulped and nodded at the sudden question. Her whole face lit up once I answered. "See! I told you you would make new friends!"

Well, thank you mrs brown for getting married:))
