Christmas Eve was here and I had surprisingly managed to wrap Harry's gifts without him knowing. I debated on whether or not to put them under the tree, but I figured I'd wait until the middle of the night to put them out and be a sneaky Santa. I was happy with my choice of the Rolex watch, but I was more nervous about the second gift that I had managed to come up with. I was praying he'd like it, but another part of me was worried he'd think it was cheesy and would never get any use out of it.

Hopefully he also wouldn't give me the lecture about spending my money. I wanted to roll my eyes just thinking about it.

"Darling?" Harry called from the bathroom.

"Yes, Harry?" I said as I turned to face him. He walked out with two different dress shirts, holding each one up to his chest.

"Which one should I wear tomorrow?" he questioned as he moved himself to stand in front of the full-length mirror on the wall. "I know we're just gathering with my family but I want to look nice, you know?"

I looked between the two -- one a light blue and the other a navy. "I definitely like the light blue one more."

He nodded in agreement, a small smile on his face, but just wide enough to reveal his dimples. He hung the navy blue shirt back up before walking back into the bedroom and placing the light blue shirt on the bed. I then grabbed the dress laying on the bed to the other side of me and held it out to him. "Does this dress work? Or should I wear something else?"

He pondered as he examined it, grabbing the dress and feeling the fabric between his fingers. "You might be a little cold in this. I'm sure my mum will have us outside to listen to the carolers at some point; I don't want you being too cold."

"I could wear a coat or something, I'm not sure I have any nice sweaters though."

"I have one, it'll be oversized on you, but you can wear a long necklace, and it would look great with some dark jeans." He left and went into the closet, rummaging around before pulling a lilac sweater off the hanger and bringing it to me.

"I won't be too underdressed?" I asked as I held the soft sweater in my hands. He shook his head with a wave of his hand.

"No, you'd probably be overdressed if you wore a dress. We usually wear jumpers to holiday events so you'll be fine."

I smiled and leaned up to kiss his lips. "Thank you."

"Of course, darling."

We were going to lunch at his mother's house with Harry's entire family the next day. I was a little nervous about making a good impression, but Harry's constant reassuring seemed to lessen the nerves. I also had a little bit of sadness that this was the first time I was spending Christmas without my family. Harry seemed to notice I was a bit off once he had finished getting ready for bed that night, and sat down next to me placed his hand on my thigh.

"Hey, are you all right?" He asked, and I looked down at his hand, placing mine over it and shrugging.

"Yeah, I think I'm just a little homesick," I said. Which felt weird, because I had been away from my family for longer than a measly three weeks, but I was in a different country and it was during the holidays; this was the first time in twenty-one years I was spending Christmas without them.
