I groaned as I felt myself waking up, reaching up to rub the sleep from my eyes. I noticed my left arm was tucked underneath Jillian's sleeping body and I was pretty sure I was losing circulation. I slowly slipped out from under her and she stirred only the slightest. She was so beautiful and so pure, not even the Disney Princesses could compete.

I reached over and brushed the stray hairs from her cheek, leaning down and pressing a small kiss to her soft skin. I wished she were awake so I could talk to her, but I'd rather her sleep since it's not even nine o'clock yet.

I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and scrolled through some emails, marking a few as important and deleting the others. I went to my  messages and noticed a text from Liam.

From: Liam Payne
Miranda stopped by the office after you left. I didn't tell her what you were doing -- or who you're with. You're welcome.

I rolled my eyes. That woman will surely drive me to the brink of insanity one day. I was careful not to wake Jillian as I climbed out of bed and went downstairs to my office. I shut the door and dialed Liam's number.

"Mate," I heard his raspy voice on the other line. "Why are you calling so early?"

"I'm sorry," I sighed. "I didn't mean to wake you. I just wanted to know why Miranda came by the office."

I heard him shuffle around and then he said, "She stopped by about an hour or so after you were gone. I was staying late to do some work and she waltzed right in. Wasn't too happy when I told her you had already left for the day."

"I'm surprised she didn't stop by my place." I said, rubbing a hand down my face. "She's never been this. . . crazy before."

"I don't know, mate. She might be trying to get back together with you or just simply wanting you to miss her."

I rolled my eyes. "I don't miss anything about her." I paused for a moment, a million things running through my mind. "Do I go as far as calling security?"

Liam sighed. "Maybe. I mean, she's only done it about twice three times now."

"Twice or three times too many." I said. "If she keeps interrupting my work, I'm not going to get the next collection done and it's going to set me back. I'm calling the department on Monday and telling them that she's not allowed in the building."

"If that's what you feel needs to be done, then go for it. Also, I'd take care of it soon. If she catches Jillian at the office, she might tie things together and who knows what will happen."

If Miranda caught Jillian at the office, my career would certainly take a blow. I could probably pass Jillian off as a model since she would most likely be doing more work for me in the future, but if Miranda found out what was going on between us, she could put my business in a bad situation. Thirty-two year-old businessman with a twenty-one year-old college student. I would hate to see that in a newspaper headline.

I groaned, thanking him for letting me bother him so early on a weekend. I hung up and went into the kitchen, assuming Jillian was still sleeping. I brewed some coffee, nearly debating on pouring a glass of whiskey instead but I knew it wouldn't be a great idea.

It's been three years since Miranda and I called it quits. Technically about a year and a half since the divorce. We never had kids, thank goodness. I wanted them, but she never did. Marrying Miranda was probably the biggest impulse mistake I'd ever made.
