"Sadie, you take first shift." Noah instructed Sadie that night during dinner. "First shift?" I asked. "Guarding Millie." Noah said. "For fuck's sake." I exclaimed. "Language." Caleb said, not looking up. "She's less of a criminal than we are and you're treating her like she's the King." I said. "Finn, without Bev, we'd all be dead, you know that, right?" Noah asked. "I'm not an idiot, Noah, I figured that. But she killed one person. One in her entire life. You two can't claim the same and neither can I." I said, looking at Sadie and Noah. "I say we let her out." I said. Sadie pushed me to the floor and had a knife to my throat in an instant. "How dare you." She hissed. "Sadie, get off of him." Gaten said, but he didn't seem too bothered by the fact that I could die any minute. "Sads." Caleb said, almost a begging tone in his voice. But I knew she wouldn't listen to them. Noah was the only one she listened to. I shot him a begging look and he sighed, obviously having preferred to have seen this play out. "Sadie, let him go." She stood up and stood in the doorway, making sure I couldn't get out. "Thank you." I said and Noah glared at me. "Sadie," he started, not taking his eyes off of me, "why don't you throw him in with her." He said, finally turning away from me and towards the redhead. "My pleasure." She said and the next thing I knew I felt a sharp pain on my left temple and everything went black.

"Finn? Finn get up." Millie was shaking me. "Why would I?" I asked, not feeling like doing anything with this massive headache. "To show them that we won't be defeated." She said, sitting down on her own bed. The nerve she had. "We?" I asked, spitting the word out. "We?!" I yelled at her as her face remained emotionless. "Listen up and listen carefully, Millie." I spat her name like it was poison. And right then, to me, it was. "There is no we. We ended the second you killed an innocent woman. The fucking second you stabbed her." She made herself smaller with every word. My voice was laced with venom but I liked it. I was in control. For the first time in my life, I was in control.

It got the best of me. She was crying. "I'm sorry, Finn. I love you." She sobbed, hugging her pillow. I didn't care. I didn't care for her anymore. "You know, the one person I didn't miss in those weeks that I was gone, was you. I was fucking happy to be away from you and your habit of controlling me and manipulating Sadie. You have us wrapped around your finger and you're so aware of it, it's infuriating." I had slowly been getting closer to her until my face was only millimeters from hers. I kissed her, aggressively, before pulling away and slapping her straight across her face.

I'd spent a few hours on Sadie's bed, staring at the ceiling, listening to Millie cry, when the door opened just a bit. "Finn." Noah's voice spoke up from the other side. "What?"
"Get out here."
I decided not to question him and just walked past a glaring Millie who was laying in the bed we'd first...
That was a different person. That girl is gone. But so is that guy.
I walked out the room and Noah shut the door behind me. "I heard you yell at her earlier. Do you still think we should free her?" He looked up at me, his face void of emotions. "No, let her rot in there, I'll sleep on the couch."
"You can take my bed, I'm on guard and Sadie's in yours."
"Thank you."
"No problem."
I just stood there for a few more minutes until Noah spoke up again. "You gonna go to sleep or...?"
"No, I already slept, thanks to Sadie, I'm just gonna go take some painkillers, then I'll join you." He nodded and I walked to the storage room. The medical section was embarrassingly empty, showing how often we got wounded, but thankfully we still had some aspirin. I walked to the kitchen and quickly threw back two with some water. Swallowing pills is horrible.

"I'm back." I said, Noah looking up at that.
"I can see that, Finnley."
"Using Frank's nickname for me, are you now?"
"I tend to be like Frank a lot, he was a bit like my mentor when I was young."
"First off, he's only two years older. Second off, that's the most open you've ever been and I've known you for over three years now." I chuckled slightly. He smiled back. "You know, Sads was the one that convinced me to take you with us. If it hadn't been for her considering you a friend, you'd still be in that prison, waiting for the day you turn eighteen and the King is legally allowed to execute you."
"Did you dislike me that much?"
"Yes, I thought you were going to steal my sister."
"I would never."
"I know that now, and I'm happy to have you as my brother."

We sat in silence after that. I was so lucky to have all of them.

"WAKE UP YOU SONS OF BITCHES!" Gaten's voice rang through the house. I shot my head up, regretting it the second the pain of sleeping against a door hit. "When did I fall asleep?" I asked Noah, who was sitting on the floor next to me. "Five minutes past four am."
"That's...specific." He shrugged and went to make breakfast. I opened the door to my bedroom to find Sadie in just her underwear. "Sads, I don't want to see that." I said, covering my eyes. "Close the door behind you, you asshole."
"Are you not gonna ask why I'm out here?"
"You think Noah would've let you out without talking to me?"
She had a point. "Okay, open your eyes, you baby." She said, walking out the room in sweatpants and a hoodie. I quickly put on a similar outfit and went to the living room. "Morning Wolfhard." Gaten mumbled through his piece of bread. "Ew, Gaten, swallow first." Caleb said and Gaten burst into laughter. "I did not mean it that way, get your mind out of the gutter." Sadie was still chuckling lightly when I sat down between her and Gaten. "So, what are we doing today?" I asked no one in particular, claiming my breakfast. "Well we have to do a lot of repairs and it's about eighty degrees outside so that should be fun." Gaten said, swallowing this time. "Also the van needs some fixing and I could use some help with that." Caleb added. "Don't forget that Brown needs to be guarded as we don't have locks." Noah said. "Speaking of which, Sadie, you bring her breakfast." She threw her hands up in protest but walked away with a slice anyway.

She came running back a few minutes later. "She's gone."
