My life was fairly normal. Nothing exciting ever happened to me. I had a daily routine that would bore even the most basic of individuals. Everyday I would walk to work, waste away my time doing whatever my boss told me to, walk home, eat, and go to sleep. I literally never do anything exciting.
It's sad sort of. I don't have many friends, and no one ever talks to me unless their job entails it. I suppose the no friends part could be attributed to the fact that I live in a swamp, but who knows.

One day, as I walked towards the vet clinic where I worked, I stumbled upon a mannequin head staring at me from beneath a pile of twigs and shit.
"What the fuck is this?" I say out loud as I wander over and crouch down to inspect the peculiar finding.
"THATS MINE! DON'T TOUCH IT!" Someone shrieks behind me. I hear foot steps hurrying towards me and, suddenly, I find myself falling onto the damp ground on my back. I close my eyes and lay on the ground for a couple seconds, trying to comprehend what just occurred. When I finally open my eyes again, I am surprised at what I see.
An average guy with brown hair and brown eyes stares down at me with an angry expression on his face. We stare at one another for a few moments until he breaks the silence.
"Who are you?!" He sort of yells. I sigh and sit up off the ground. I stare at him for a little while until I finally decide to answer his question.
"My name is Josh Dun," I say in a friendly voice "who are you?". He continues to stare at me with an unreadable expression spread across his features. He remains that way for a while longer, obviously debating with himself whether or not he should tell me who he is. I give him a friendly smile to reassure him that I'm not some weird guy who just hangs around in this random swamp. Although, to be honest, I had no way of knowing that he wasn't some weird guy who just hangs around in this swamp.
"I'm Tyler Joseph" he finally answers, his expression suddenly changing to that of a happy little dude. He holds out his hand to help me up off the ground. "Sorry for pushing you over earlier man," he says once I am stood up beside him "I just thought you were going to take my mannequin head or something." He smiles apologetically. I shrug.
"It's chill dude." I respond, giving him a reassuring smile. "I have to get to work though, so, like, bye. Maybe I'll see you around?" I give Tyler a questioning look as I dust myself off.
"Perhaps you will," he replies "I actually just moved to town." He looks around a bit and then looks down at his feet. "I'm kind of lost as well. I was wondering if you could maybe help me out a bit? You seem to know where you are." He looks at me with a hopeful expression.
"Totally man. I've lived here my whole live. Where are you headed?" I question.
"The vet clinic." He answers. My face lights up.
"That's where I work! You can accompany me on my way. May I ask why you are going there?" He giggles and replies.
"I'm starting work there today!"
"Sick. Sick as frick. Now I have a work buddy." I smile a genuine smile as I gesture for Tyler to follow me.

We arrive at the vet clinic a few minutes later and we walk inside where we are coldly greeted by the secretary at the front desk.
"Hello. This is Tyler Joseph. He's starting work here today." I say to the fake bitch behind the front desk.
"I know that" she practically growls. She gets Tyler to sign some papers and stuff and then leads him down a hallway to meet our boss. I give him a thumbs up as he walks away and he gives me a nervous smile.
Once I am settled at my desk, I begin the "wasting away my time" part of my daily routine. After about 15 minutes, Tyler and my boss Gerry walk out of Gerry's office. Tyler gets his own office for some reason, which is pretty cool I guess. I remember that I had never asked what exactly he did as a profession. I make a mental note to ask someone about that later.
When my lunch break rolls around, I smile and walk towards the small staff room down the hallway. On my way, I pass by the door to Tyler's office. I decide to stop by and ask if he would like to join me for lunch. I knock on the door.
"Come in." I hear Tyler's voice say from the other side of the wooden door. The door is already open so I push it and walk into the office. After a quick look around, I ask the question I was originally there to ask.
"Wanna go for lunch?" I give him as charming a smile as possible, to better the chances of him agreeing. He grins wide at me and nods.
"I'd very much enjoy that" he says as he gets up from one of the ugly, cheap office chairs this clinic provides. They are really bad chairs.
