Peter Parker slept all day. It was a school day but he was excused thanks to Doctor Maria Crawford. His mutation disease deeply exhausted him. As for his teammates, they all went to class. Their current class was Professor Port's and was telling another story. Venus Deterzo missed Peter very much even though she knew he was sleeping at their dorm. Nightingale assured, "Do not worry, Venus. Peter will be awake when you come back." Venus sighed, "I know. I just wish he'd be awake right now." Then the bell rang as she quickly passed Weiss Schnee. Johnny Gallo smiled, "Look at her go!" Nightingale smiled with some amusement but didn't laugh. "Wow, not a chuckle," said Johnny. "Why is that?" Nightingale answered, "Well, we can laugh like everyone, but we have to... touch someone. While we can sense emotions we kind of have to touch people in order to express them." She looked down sheepishly as she added, "We did not tell you that because we did not know if you would be comfortable with this." Johnny thought for a while and replied, "Hey, it's alright. Anytime you need to laugh or cry, then I'm here for you." Johnny reached out his hand and held Nightingale's hand. She then felt a jolt of happiness but felt her skin blush a dark blue. Nightingale started to feel the same feelings Venus had for Peter but hers were directed at Johnny. "J-Jonathan," stuttered Nightingale. "Yeah?" asked Johnny. She looked to one side as she said timidly, "M-Maybe we should check on P-Peter and V-Venus." Johnny asked, "Okay, but are you alright?" Nightingale blushed, "W-We are f-fine." Johnny nodded as he said, "All right, let's go." He let go of her hand as he left the classroom. Nightingale tried to recompose herself but couldn't as she thought, 'Are we falling for him?' Shaking it off, she thought, 'No, we can't. Mother wouldn't approve.... but yet...' Johnny snapped her out of it as he asked, "Are you coming?" Nightingale nodded quickly, "Oh, yes!" She quickly walked to him as they headed to their dorm room.
Peter got out of the dorm room with fresh clothes on. Suddenly he heard a familiar voice. "Peter!" exclaimed the voice. He turned but was too late to react when Venus hug tackled him to the floor. She cried, "I've missed you!" Peter smiled, "How was your day?" Venus looked at him and frowned cutely, "Terrible!" Peter chuckled, "Oh, it couldn't be that bad." Venus pouted, "Yes it was! I've had no classes with you!" Peter sighed as he began to pet her hair and scratch behind her cat ears. Venus purred feeling his fingers do their magic. She then stopped as she said, "Don't think that petting my hair is going to get you anywhere. You owe me." Peter asked, "Owe you what?" Venus playfully frowned, "A date with me and you." Peter offered, "Ursula's tonight?" Venus then leaned toward Peter's face, her lips inches away from his. She looked him square in the eyes as she smiled, "Okay!" Venus kissed Peter as she lied on top of him while wrapping her arms around his neck. They separated as Venus knelt her head against Peter's neck. Johnny and Nightingale looked down at them in amusement. Nightingale began to giggle while touching Johnny's arm. "Nightingale laughing?" said Peter in amazement. "Wow." Nightingale stopped laughing as she explained, "We told Jonathan that we can express our feelings by physical touch. We found your ordeal... somewhat amusing." Venus giggled as she got off of Peter and he got up. Johnny observed, "Looks like you made quite the recovery." Peter nodded, "Yeah. Some weekend, huh?" Venus punched him lightly on his arm as she frowned, "You idiot. I was worried sick about you!" Peter asked, "But I'm here, right?" Venus huffed as Peter lightly kissed her cheek. She sighed as hugged his arm and smiled, "I'm glad you're alright." Johnny asked, "So who was the one who turned our leader into a Man Spider like the one we saw in the movie?" Nightingale shrugged, "Doctor Maria Crawford could not find anything detailing Peter's mutation. She was fortunate to create a serum to counteract the mutation disease." Peter said, "As much as I would like to play 'Who Mutated Me?', I owe Venus a date." Venus tapped his nose as she said, "Baka." She pulled him away as Johnny and Nightingale watched them go.
Peter and Venus were at Ursula's as Jenny gave them glasses of water. "Thanks, Jenny," smiled Peter. Jenny nodded as she left. Venus asked, "Peter? Can I ask you something?" Peter nodded, "Sure." Venus asked, "If you found out something terrible about me, would you still love me?" Peter answered genuinely, "Venus. I would love you no matter what. From the first day we met, I've hit the jackpot. I don't just want you, I need you. I know it's been a hard..." Venus suddenly interrupted him by a soft kiss on his lips. She pulled away from his lips as she said, "That's all I wanted to hear." Peter asked, "So what was it that you wanted to tell me?" Venus bit her lip as she began, "Well..."
A person was watching Peter and Venus talk to each across the street. He had a jealous look on his face. The person then walked over to a corner and dialed a number on his scroll.
Before Venus could say anything to Peter, Jenny came over and apologized, "Sorry. The phone is ringing for Venus. Make it fast or my boss lady will make me clean the cellar." Venus nodded, "Okay." She got up as she headed for the phone. Jenny looked down ashamed as Peter asked, "What's wrong?" Jenny looked at him and asked, "Peter, do you think I'm jealous of her?" Peter asked, "Are you?" Jenny shook her head as she answered, "No. I'm really happy for you two. It's just I've been crushing on you for a while and yet I've always known you never felt the same way. Look, I just want to get this straight with you." Peter assured, "Hey. I'm sure there's someone who likes you." Jenny smiled, "Actually, there is someone..." Peter asked, "Who?" Jenny answered, "His name is Harry Osborn."
Venus picked up the phone and said, "Venus Deterzo, fabulous huntress in training." A familiar voice said, "Still the jokester, huh Venus?" She was taken aback. "Morris?" asked Venus surprised. The person replied, "So you do recognize my voice." Venus demanded softly, "What do you want?" Morris answered, "Meet me at the Aquarius Motel. Alone." Venus shook her head as she refused, "No, I won't!" Morris insisted, "You can and you will. It's inevitable as the tides." He hung up as she sighed and lowered her cat ears sadly. "I'm so sorry, Peter," murmured Venus woefully to herself. She then went over to gather her things. Peter noticed her change of behavior and asked, "What's wrong?" Venus didn't answered as she disappeared in a flash of light. Jenny asked, "What's wrong with Venus?" Peter replied, "Whatever it was, it must have been who she was talking to on that phone. I gotta go." Peter left the restaurant and ducked into a alleyway as he changed into his old Spider-Man suit.
