"Oh my god! I was about to hit Ms. Jefferson in the face with a chair if she didn't stop talking!" My friend Chloe exclaims. Me and Chloe walk down the hallway of school to our fourth period class which we had together.

"Come on, it wasn't that bad," I laugh at her unreasonable furry.

"Not that bad? She was talking about her cats for god sakes! And she assigned a five page paper that's due Monday! Homework over the weekend, can you believe that?" Chloe yells, waving the paper assignment in my face. I smack her hand away.

"It's not that hard. Jessica said that Ms. Collision gave the same assignment last week and she pasted."

"Yeah, well, Jessica is a teachers pet. She sucks up to every teacher."

"True as that may be your not helping," I say as we enter the class room. I took my sit in the very back, where me and Chloe always sit.

"Anyway, I still find this ridiculous," Chloe continues to complain, and took her sit beside me.

"You find everything on the face of the earth ridiculous. The assignment is easy," I roll my eyes and smile.

"Easy for you to say! You get straight A's in every class while I'm struggling in gym class. I can't have my phone!" She cries. I roll my eyes at her again.

"Hey dude, did you hear on the news?" The guy in front of us says. He was tall with light brown hair. I sit up and lean closer, wanting to hear more about the conversation.

"No, what happened?" I'm guessing the guys friend asks. He had black spiky hair and he, also, was tall.

"They are starting the search for Jason McCann again" he whispers as if it was the biggest secret ever. Jason McCann? I thought they stopped looking for him months ago. Is he back? Jason McCann is the most wanted criminal right now. No one knows Jason's background and I don't think any one wants to. He has bombed hundreds of city's which probably killed many innocent people. He's so dangerous. When he finds you, you might as well say goodbye.

School dragged though the rest of the day. Chloe and I were heading to the mall. I'm not going to lie, ever since those guys were taking about Jason, I've been frightened. Just hearing he's name makes my skin crawl. I know I can't be the only one scared of him. He scares everybody, I'm sure.

Chloe parks her car in the parking. Living in Atlanta was its ups and downs. And this was one of them. The mall wasn't very big. At least, this one wasn't. I have seen bigger.

"Are you still thinking about what those boys were taking were talking about?" Chloe asks, snapping me from my thoughts.

"Huh? No," I lie and shrug my shoulders.

"Tori, I can tell when your lying. Stop thinking about him, he's nowhere near here," She says, opening the front door.

"You don't know that. Nobody knows where he is, he could be here in this every town," I explain.

"No he isn't. Stop thinking about it. Besides, what would Jason McCann want with us?" Chloe laughs. Chloe never thought much about situations and she never made such a big deal about them either. A killer could be hunting her and she won't think much about it. As we walk she continues to talk about Jason. When we got to the food court and found a table, I look past Chloe and in the corner I see two guys staring at us. They have a scary, mysterious look to them that makes me uncomfortable. One of them has dark blue jeans, a grey shirt and a black leather jacket with supra's . He has black, shaggy hair. The other had the same on but his hair was a little longer and he had a SnapBack on.

"Tori Santiago, are you listening?" Chloe says, startling me.

"Uh, no. Sorry," I sign, looking now at Chloe. She pulls her long blonde hair in a pony tail.

She signs and lightly smiles. "I'm going to get us food, I'll be back." She stands up and gave me a little hug before walking off to the stand. I didn't want her to leave cause no the guys have a good view of me. I grab my phone and start playing a game, trying to distract myself from looking at them. Every now and then, I would looked up at them and find them staring again.

What seems like forever, Chloe came back with a tray of food. "Sorry it took long, the stupid lady in front of me talks slow."

"It's fine," I say and took a bite of some fries.

"I got you a Pepsi, I know thats your favorite," she smiles, taking a drink.

"Thanks angel," I say, using her nickname i gave her years ago. After a little while of silents I spoke up again. "Chloe, do you see the two guys behind you?" She turns around and starts looking.

"The two guys in the leather jackets?" She questions, still turned around. They wasn't looking now so they didn't know Chloe was looking at them.

"Yeah," I sign.

"What about them?" She turns back around and gives me a curious look.

"They kept staring at us earlier," I whisper.

"Maybe they think we're sexy. It's not often to spot two sexy teenage girl here," she says and winks. I ignore the comment.

"Theres something off about them."

"Now why do you think that?"

"Cause I just... have a feeling"

"Your just still freaked out about the whole Jason McCann situation" as soon as she says his name the two guys stop talking to each other and look back at us. One of the guys sent me an evil, dark smile and mouth something that I couldn't catch.

All I want to do was cry, run or something. I didn't want to be in the here anymore. I just want to be home, in my bed, safe. But I focused myself to not tell Chloe to take me home.later that evening, Chloe helps me take my new stuff to my room when she dropped me off at home. Chloe and my parents exchanged hi's and bye's before she left.

"Tori, sweetheart?" I hear my mom ask over dinner earlier that night.

"Um? Oh, yeah, right. Sorry," I stutter. I haven't been able to stay on task every since I got home. I just start poking my chicken breast with my fork.

"Are you alright? You seen out of it today," mom says, and looks at me with worried eyes. I hate it when she looks at me like that.

"Yeah mom, I'm fine," I say and took a drink of my water.

"Did something happen at school? Did you and Chloe get into a fight or something?" Mom ask. Does she ever lay off?

"Mom I said I'm fine! Now stop asking!" I yell. I slam my hands on the table, causing it to shake and almost knocking off my water bottle.

"Tori Santiago! Don't talk to your mother that way! She was just asking a question," Dad stood up and gives me a angry look.

"Yeah!? And I already answered! I said I'm fine and that's it!"

"You apologize to your mother right now, young lady!" Dad say and points to mom, who was also standing with her arms crossed.

"I'm sorry okay!?" I yell and went off to my room. I slam the door shut letting them know I wasn't in the mood to be talked to. I need to get my mind off things so I head to the bathroom for a shower. As soon as the hot water hit my back, I relax. I am so ready for today to be over and done with. But tomorrow is going to be bad, knowing how my parents are. They never let things go. They can never move on from what's already been done. I'm sick and tired of it! I just need a break from them and everyone. And a long break at that. I want to get away and have a fresh start.

I jump out of the shower and wrap a towel around my body and my hair. I peck my head out of the door and look down the hallway. The house was dark so they must have gone to bed. I went to my room and put on a big shirt while throwing the towels in a hamper. I crawl into my bed and turning off my phone, putting it on my bedside table. When my head hit the pillow, I realize how tired I really am. Soon enough, I drift off to sleep.

~~
Suddenly, in the middle of the night, I feel a cloth clamp my mouth. I jump and start kicking and screaming but hands hold my arms and legs down, stopping me from moving. Everything starts to be blurry.

"Hello puppet," a dark, evil guys voice rings in my ear. Before I drift off, I realize it was the two guys from the mall.
