Finally reunited

Sonic and Tails found themselves in a room filled with high technology, despite the fact that it has a lot of trashed things around, it still is intact with it's energy.

Tails: This place gives me the creeps.

Sonic: Relax, it's not like something's going to come out of nowhere.

Just then, the machine that Amy and Knuckles talked to appeared in front of them and frightened tails a little.

Sonic: I really didn't see that coming.

???: Scanning life forms, hedgehog and fox confirmed. It is agreeable to see you again blue hedgehog.

Sonic: Why does everybody keep saying that? Who are you?

Maia: I am Maia, long ago, I rebelled against my creator, Lyric, and helped imprisoned him. Now, a thousand years later, he has returned.

Sonic: We know that. We're looking for the crystals to stop him.

Maia: Processing...there is a map that reveals the location of all the crystals.

Sonic: Where is it?

Maia: Not where, when. It disappeared long ago, but this machine can transport you to a time before it vanished.

 Sonic: Let's go.

 Maia: Facility power in nonfunctional. Generator requires reactivation. Location is --- up there *looks up*

Sonic an Tails look up to see Amy and Knuckles.

Sonic: Amy! Maia is going to help us with the crystals, but we need the generator up and running.

Amy: We're on it! *leaves*

Knuckles: Me too! *leaves*

Amy and Knuckles went to find the generator and tried to fix it back, they found it but they had to use their energy beams to help put all the energy towers connected. Once they've finished, the facility started. Sonic and tails awed at the sight and maia went to her station and started to open the portal.

Maia: Portal activated, setting coordinates, upon completion I will send you through.

Sonic: *nods*

Shadow: You don't think of going without us, are you?

Sonic: *gasps and turns around to see Shadow and Silver*

Tails: Shadow, Silver, It's great to see you again.

Silver: Good to see you guys again too.

Sonic didn't know what to say as he slowly approached Shadow with a shocked face, Shadow smiled and approached him as well. When they were right in front of each other, they didn't know what to do. Sonic slowly puts a hand on Shadow's muzzle as he tried to keep his tears in, Shadow continued to smile and took Sonic's hand to pull him closer for a hug as he closed his eyes while leaning on Sonic's shoulder and head.

Shadow: I've missed you a lot.

Sonic: *lets a few tears fall and hugs back* I've missed you too. You don't know how long I've wanted to see you again.

Shadow: Yeah, but I always knew I could return.

Sonic: And I'm happy you have.

Silver goes over to tails and does a brotherly fist bump with him, Tails gave Silver a shackle so he could help them out as well. When Sonic and Shadow stopped hugging, Tails went over to Shadow and gave him the last shackle.

Shadow: *looks at the shackle* Uh...What is this for?

Tails: It's a shackle, they can help us out along the way.

Sonic: We've already use them a couple of times, and I think that they're the key to opening a few holes.

Silver: I see, well then, Let's get moving shall we?

Everyone nodded and went through the portal, once they're at the other side, they found themselves in the ice age. Sonic started to shiver from the cold, Shadow went over to him and hugged him helping him feel warm again. They smiled at each other and couldn't help give each other a small peck on the lip. tails and Silver went to look around to find why they ended up in the ice age, when Maia's voice came up.

Maia: Portal not calibrated yet... 95%.

Tails: So that's why we ended up in the ice age.

Silver: I guess we'll have to wait until the another portal opens.

As they were waiting, Sonic and Shadow took the time to know what Shadow was doing while he was gone. Sonic also told Shadow what they are doing now, so Shadow won't get so confused.

Sonic: So, have you found all the answers to your questions?

Shadow: No, but I have found some that fills in some of the blanks.

Sonic: Are you going to continue searching?

Shadow: Nope, in fact, I wanted to stop the search and spend more time with you. Though I'm eager to know more about myself, I always thought that you always mattered the most. So I came back and here I am with you, on another adventure together.

Sonic: ...Shadow

Just then, another portal opened and Tails and Silver saw it as well. They all went through it and found themselves in the prehistoric times, it was really warm so Sonic and Shadow stopped hugging. They waited for the portal to reappear again, so Sonic and Shadow continued their conversation.

Shadow: Sonic, I promise that from now on, I will always be there for you okay? *puts a hand om Sonic's muzzle*

Sonic: *smiles and puts and hand on Shadow's hand while embracing his touch* Okay Shadow.

Shadow smiled back and they  went into a really passionate kiss, Tails and Silver saw the moment and laughed a little. Then the portal opened again, they stated heading to the portal.

Maia: Portal is ready.

Sonic: Great. Let's go guys.
