The Crystals *part 2* (The driller worms)

They waked for a while before stopping to the starting point of the pit.

Knuckles: What is all this stuff?

Amy: Tails, Silver and I will go left, up along the ridge. *high fives with them and leaves*

Sonic: Do you really think you can keep up with me?

Knuckles: Been doing it all day...

Sonic: If you can't keep up, just go with them. *jumps down with Shadow*

Knuckles: One of these days, I'm going to knock you out...really.

They started looking for clues on where the crystal maybe, they destroyed robots, and used their energy beams to take them closer to what they are looking for. While they were searching for clues, they found a giant robot drilling the ground to make a huge hole. They started doing anything they can to destroy the robot from entering the hole it created, and when they finally defeated the robot, the hole has already been done.

Sonic: We did it!

Knuckles: Who brought the thunder? This guy! *realises what Sonic said and points to him* You said 'we'... I heard it!

Sonic: Nah, yo have too much dirt in your ears.

Knuckles: But you did say it. I am proud of you...that's what a good teammate would say.

Shadow: *sighs*

When they jumped down the pit...

Knuckles: Whhhhooooooaaaa! Oof!

Sonic: *mumbles*

Knuckles: Whew! Squishy floor.

Shadow: Knuckles, the ground isn't squishy unless...

Sonic: *mumbles*

Shadow: *gasps* Get off Sonic you idiot!

Knuckles: Whoops! My bad.

Sonic: *sighs* Thank you.

Shadow: So...now what?

Knuckles: If only we had a light...sorry I mentioned it.

Then suddenly, robots appeared and started attacking. Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles were able to fight back since the robots glow in the dark, so they had their advantage. Once they were done, more robots appeared. This time, they appeared near a door that may lead to the crystal. So they started attacking them as well. After they were done, the door cracked open giving a slight view of something huge drilling through the earth.

Knuckles: Well that's not a good thing...did you see that?

Sonic: *a little uneasy* I sure did...wish I didn't...but I did...

Shadow: I say we work to avoid wherever that thing is going.

Sonic: I agree.

They continued to head in deeper of the pit, they took the opposite side of the tunnel that the huge machine has made, but they found themselves at a dead end. Or what seems to be it.

Sonic: Think we hit a dead end.

Knuckles: Oh, if you can't solve a problem, then it must be unsolvable, right?

Sonic: Isn't that the way it usually is? Um...are you okay?

Knuckles: Speed isn't always the answer. Sometimes you have to punch through a wall.

After Knuckles did a few punches, he finally made a clearing of the dig site, but there doesn't seem to be a way to it. Sonic and Shadow were shocked for a little while before snapping back.

Sonic: Big deal. Maybe I loosened it.

Knuckles: Yeah. You keep thinking that. *hits Sonic's back, making him loose a ring and his balance*

Sonic: Whoa...help! *falls*

Shadow: Sonic! *jumps down*

Knuckles: I gotcha! *jumps down*

Sonic: I'm slipping!

Shadow and Knuckles: *each grabs each of Sonic's hands before he falls* I got you!

Sonic: *starts to loose his grip* I can't hold on much longer!

Shadow: I'm not going to loose you Sonic!

Knuckles: This is NOT how it ends for you!

Then they suddenly heard something and looked down to see that a platform was just underneath Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles let go of Sonic so he could get down. Then once he's okay, they too came down without a problem.

Sonic: Eh, Thanks...

They continued to find the crystal after they had a glance of the dig site, they went through lava, gates and robots until they finally found Amy, Tails and Silver waving to them at the other side of a gate. They finished fighting a few robots and made their way to them.

Tails: Finally, what took you guys so long?

*everyone steps into the middle, not know that they've just activated something*

Knuckles: Seriously?

Amy: Isn't this place AWESOME!

Tails: Our mine car ride was so cool, and the views...

Silver: Oh yeah, almost forgot about that. After having a view of the place, we were pretty sure that this is a dig site for lyric. Though we haven't seen any of his robots, we almost did but then some sirens went off and they left.

Shadow: That odd, the robots that we encountered didn't do the same. Instead they just attacked us, and we don't remember hearing any sirens.

Sonic: Uh, guys? Where...are...we...

Then, a huge fan started, blowing the group to a another exit that led them to a road and started running. While they were running though, the huge robot that Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles saw earlier suddenly emerged from the side and started attacking by making rocks fall on the road. They managed to dodge every rock on the road, they finally came to the end of the road and found the crystal at the end.

Amy: The crystal!

Tails: Finally! An easy one!

Shadow: Uh, I don't think so Tails.

Silver: Look out!

Suddenly, the driller worm came out from below and took the crystal while smashing into the ground as well. The group stepped back a little bit so they won't get hit.

Sonic: You just had to say something, didn't you buddy.

They started finding ways of defeating the driller worm, so far, Shadow and Silver were able to use their abilities to at least give the worm some damage, but it wasn't enough. The rest of the gang used the robots to hit the worm and were able to weaken it enough so they're able to use their energy beam to bring it down and hit it with everything they got, Shadow and Silver helped out too. Soon they manage to defeat it and get the crystal back, after they left, Lyric and eggman came and saw the robot was destroyed. 

Eggman: Well, there is good news...yes, the good news is, Sonic still has the map. So all we have to do is draw him out. And, I know just how to do it.

Lyric: *doesn't say and just shakes his head in annoyance while leaving*

Eggman: *secretly wipes his forehead while following him*

The group went back to Cliffs evacuation site and started looking for him, they found with an old looking airplane beside him.

Cliff: Glad to see you all safe and sound. How do you like the old bird?...not too shabby for being buried for a thousand years, huh?

Tails: Cliff, we found the location of the next crystal. It's across the ocean.

Cliff: Well, you came to the right place. Let's fire this baby up! Get on board!

They got into the plane and started flying off, there wasn't any space left for Shadow and Silver so they've decided to fly along with them instead.
