Chapter 8- Thinking about her...

Max's POV

I was sat in my photography class. Jefferson was ranting on about things that I already knew. As always Victoria is being a bitch to Kate. Poor Kate, she looks so upset I must speak to her soon. I look down at my note book on my desk. I had given up with this lesson about twenty minutes ago and had started to draw. I drew a butterfly. I knew why I had drawn it. It reminded me of Chloe. Ever since our little game of truth or dare this morning I couldn't stop thinking about the blue haired girl. And after that kiss I couldn't deny my feelings. I need to talk to her about it...

Chloe's POV

Right that's it! I'm going to do it. I'm... no... I can't she's my best friend. What if this ruins everything we have. I mean she's just come back into my life after five years.

 All these thoughts swarm my head as I pull up to the junk yard. I pull out a already rolled cigarette and light it as I step out the truck with a bottle of beer in my hand. I slowly walk over to a old car. It's red and slightly rusted. I sit on it and sigh as I open the bottle and take a drink. I had to at least tell her. I needed to know how she felt. I hope that Max will come round at some point over the next few days. I mean after what she said when she got out the truck at Blackwell and the way she looked at me after the kiss I think everything will be fine.

 I finished my beer and smoked the rest of my cigarette. I dropped it to the floor and put it out with my foot. After that I decided to go on a walk on the train tracks. I have done this every week since Max left and I found it quite relaxing to be lost in my own thoughts surrounded by nature and trains rarely came down here so it was pretty safe. I started my walk heading in the direction of the light house as that was another place I liked to sit and think. As I left the junk yard I saw a deer in the woods off to the side. It reminded me of Max which made me smile. I had to get a photo of it. So I quick got out my phone and snapped a couple of pictures taking a couple of steps before I take the next. I got about 2 meters away before it spotted me and ran off. I smiled as I looked back at my photos. I was pretty happy with them. I mean Max would have done a way better job of it but at least I tried.

I got to a certain point along the tracks and stopped. I decided to sit down on the old tracks. Looking up at the sky everything seemed perfect. There was hardly a cloud in the sky. It was nice... I think the next few days were going to be perfect.

Max's POV

I think I'll go see Chloe again tonight. It was lunch time now and I was having tea with Kate. She was very glad I could spend time with her. We were talking about a competition called 'The Every Day Hero's Contest.' I wasn't sure if I should enter or not. But Kate is determined that I should. Kate could always make me laugh. She is so sweet, kind and innocent. To be honest she's one of the kindest people on campus. 

I kept the drawing I did in class.  I kept it folded up in my pocket. Every so often I moved my hand into my pocket and held the piece of paper. Kate seemed to notice.

"You okay there Max?" She asked simply. I nod. "I can tell something is bothering you Max." I sigh knowing I can't get anything about Kate. I explain everything and show her the drawing. I explain the game of Truth or Dare and the kiss and how I acted when Chloe brought me back to Blackwell. Kate ended up giving me great advice. "Look Max, If you really like her and you feel like it's right then go for it. She wouldn't have dared you to kiss her if she didn't like you." Kate seemed pretty confident with what she said. We spent a few more hours together talking about different things until I looked at the time.

"Oh sorry Kate I really have to go. I said to Chloe I would meet her later and its already three and I need to get some studying done." Kate smile

"Yeah I should probably get going back to Blackwell too. Its been great hanging out with you again Max. I look forward to the next time we do." She seems so grateful that I give any time of my day to spending it with her. I smiled be fore hugging her.

"Anytime Kate. You have my number so just text me if you need anything." She hugs me back and we both go our separate ways. Right, now to go study for a few hours and then go find Chloe...
