Chapter 9 - Filler

After that night in the infirmary, Hermione, Layla, Alec and Zahra (who was back in her usual form) were allowed to leave the infirmary. However, Amara was still unconscious. Magnus reassured them that she was fine and that she would wake up within a day or two, but layla, Hermione, Caitlin and Alec stayed with her (Alec secretly stayed because of layla).

Caitlin was distraught, she wasn't her usual crazy self without Amara; it was like a part of her was unconscious too.

"What if,............what if she never wakes up," said Caitlin trying not to cry.

"Of course she'll wake up," said layla for the zillionth time.

"People get knocked out all the time, Caitlin, Amara will wake up, I promise," said Hermione

"I hope so," said Caitlin, "because we're going to become parabatai,"

Alec, who had not spoken for a while and was not paying much attention, suddenly perked up at the mention of 'parabatai' and said,

"Congratulations! Izzy will be so excited, its sooo cool that you two are gonna be parabatai, this means that there is gonna be three parabatai in one institute. New record!"

"Don't tell anyone yet," said Caitlin quickly.

"Why not?" asked Hermione, "you're going to be parabatai and you both are our best friends, of course we're going to tell everyone,"

"And we need to get the party planned," chimed in layla

"Just don't tell anyone," said Caitlin, "Please,"

"Okay," they promised reluctantly.

"And anyway, you two should probably be the ones to tell everyone, I know how special it is," said Alec

"Hhhhhhmmmmmmmm," mumbled Caitlin absentmindedly. The four stayed silent, sitting there mentally willing her to wake up, for hours until Zahra Fatima, Maddie and Frankie and shuffled into the infirmary,

"You guys should probably have a shower and eat something," said Frankie. "We'll stay here and watch over Amara, we'll call you if anything happens,"

Hermione and Alec got up stretching,

"Come on guys," said Alec. Layla and Caitlin were still reluctant to leave Amara's side, but they eventually agreed to have a shower and a snack.

"Thanks guys," said layla giving Zahra Fatima, Maddie and Frankie a hug as she left the room.

As they were walking to their room, Hermione caught up with layla and pulled her into a connecting corridor.

"Layla, you really need to sort out what's going on between you and Alec." Layla raised her eyebrows, "I'm serious! I swear he was staring at you for however may hours we were in the infirmary. Sort it out!" said Hermione. Layla sighed

"Fine, I'll talk to him after I've had a shower, okay?!"

"You'd better, because I totally ship you two," said Hermione and layla just rolled her eyed and smiled. Then suddenly Hermione scooped layla into a hug. Layla was shocked and when Hermione let go after a second, she said awestruck,

"I've never seen you hug anyone before!"

"Soz, but I've never really have a real friend before and I've never really had anyone to........well.... you know, girl talk," she said, and layla smiled and held out her hand,

"Well now you do,".
